Wanda Whipple is one of the two tritagonists (alongside Wendy Whipple) of the 2024 live-action miniseries Knuckles, a spin-off to the Sonic the Hedgehog film series. She is an FBI agent and the sister of Wade Whipple and the daughter of Wendy Whipple.
She is portrayed by Edi Patterson.
Biography
Past
Wanda was the first born to Pete Whipple and Wendy. At an unknown age, her father abandoned her little brother, Wade, in a department store, ultimately abandoning her as well as her mother to continue his bowling career. During every Shabbat dinner, Wanda would bully Wade. Eventually, she joined the FBI.
Knuckles
One day at their home in Boise, Idaho, Wanda and Wendy are visited by Wade, who wanted to stop by after spending two years, three months, and 13 days without them. He introduces them to his friend, Knuckles. The family have dinner together. Despite being a federal agent, Wanda had never heard of G.U.N. and believed it was made up, even making up a name. Wanda and Wade bicker with each other, which results in Wade going to his room before Wanda leaves as well. Later that night, a group of bounty hunters broke into the house coming for Wade due him being a fugitive. Wanda challenges a bounty hunter equipping chains, whom causes her to scurry behind a broken chair. As this hunter throws the chain directly at her, Knuckles catches the chain, throwing around the hunter before going to the next two, who he defeats together with Wendy. After the whole battle, the family with Knuckles gather to light up some candles.
When Wade was grabbed by his old friend and bounty hunter, Jack Sinclair, Wanda asked Knuckles if he was going to rescue him, to which he declined, making her remark she won't either. Eventually, Wade returned on Jack's bike, also wearing the latter's hat and jacket. She and Wendy later accompany Knuckles and Wade on their trip to Reno.
Wanda and Wendy arrive at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno meeting up with Wade and Knuckles. Wanda offers Knuckles a drink which she names "Wandarita," while her mother tries to invite him to a spa. Wade refuses to have both, as they need to keep a low profile. After Wendy and Wanda decide to go their activities on their own, while Wade sees and reunites with Pistol Pete. They watch Wade competing in the tournament and he is now placed in the finals against their father.
Later that night, Pete betrays the family by selling them out to two rogue G.U.N. agents Mason and Willoughby, who kidnap Wanda and Wendy and placed them in Pete's suite. He brings Wade to his room before revealing his betrayal and enforcing him to give up Knuckles to let them be released and to forfeit the tournament. Unbeknownst to the agents, Knuckles overheard the whole thing through Wade's earbuds, the two planned an ambush before he sends him to Pete's room. Knuckles arrives and battles the two agents while Wade rescues Wanda and Wendy with Wanda freeing herself by dislocating her thumb. Knuckles then defeats the agents by sending them on a loop through the portal rings.
Wanda and Wendy continue to watch the tournament. Wade managed to defeat his father in the finals. Shortly, Knuckles is attacked by the agent's employer, The Buyer, who appeared in his mech and thrower him into the stadium. After being dragged outside, Knuckles is drained of his power. Wade comes by to assist, using Mason's gauntlets to throw bowling balls, given by Wendy and Wanda, at the mech. They watched as Wade motivates Knuckles to fight before he regains his powers and the two defeats The Buyer. The four returns to the stadium and when Pete tries to steal Wade's trophy, Wanda and Wendy beat him up for it. They celebrate the victory. Wanda offers Wendy to join the FBI.
