Admiral Tommy Briggs is the supporting protagonist in the 2012 video game of Call of Duty: Black Ops II. He commands and leads Seal Team Six and JSOC's operations along with Lieutenant Commander David "Section" Mason to stop Raul Menendez and Cordis Die.

He is voiced and motion-captured by the late Tony Todd, who also portrayed Ben in the Night of The Living Dead remake, Leonard Anderson in Babylon 5, Kurn in the Star Trek franchise, Slyrak in DOTA: Dragon's Blood, and voiced Venom in Insomniac's Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

Biography

Background

Nothing is known of Tommy Briggs' past, but he was born in 1964 and later joined the United States Navy. From his own words, he flew one of the jets during the September 11 attacks. By 2025, Briggs reached the rank of admiral and is the commander of the navy, Joint Special Operations Command and SEAL Team Six and was stationed on the USS Barack Obama.

Black Ops II

Briggs first appears in the level "Celerium" and first heard via comms, and then appearing in person in the end where David hands him the Celerium Raul Menendez planned to use. Briggs then later appears in the Strike Force Missions, debriefing the soldiers along with Section while completing the missions to stop Cordis Die, (optionally) rescue Chloe Lynch if Section and his team failed in "Karama", and eliminating Zhao.

After defeating Defalco and other missions, Briggs is seen with David Petraeus noticing that Raul Menendez is captured in The U.S.S. Barack Obama and later sees Salazar and Section interrogating Menendez. Just Then, Cordis Die and The Mercs breach and rescued Menendez. Meanwhile, Menendez holds Briggs hostage and later Salazar betrays Section, Briggs and the Team realizing he was working with Raul Menendez and Cordis Die. Raul Menendez can choose to execute Briggs, wound him by shooting him in the legs, knees or arm or do nothing and then Salazar pistol whips him after Briggs tries to disarm Menendez.

Fate

Execution means that Briggs will not be able to reactivate the U.S.S. Obama's defenses, while wounding Briggs allows him to do so. If Menendez chooses to do nothing, Briggs will then rush at them and attempt to disarm them only to be knocked out by Salazar, giving the same result as shooting him the leg. It should be noted that in the career record, it reflect the decisions, and impacts the story. If Menendez kills him, The U.S.S. Obama will sink. If he survives and the Strike Force Missions are completed with success, the ship will survive.
