Sayoko Shinozaki is a supporting character in the anime series Code Geass. Initially introduced as the maid of Lelouch and Nunnally Lamperouge, she is later revealed to be a ninja and the 37th successor of the Shinozaki School of martial arts and is even referred to as a Supermaid. She joins the Black Knights near the end of the first season. Of all of Lelouch's followers, Sayoko rivals Kaguya Sumeragi and Jeremiah Gottwald as one of the most loyal, supporting Lelouch with just about every decision he makes.
She is voiced by Satomi Arai in the Japanese version and Kim Mai Guest in the English version.
Appearance
Sayoko is a tall young woman with dark brown hair and brown eyes. While she is normally seen wearing a maid's uniform, she is shown to change her outfit on occasion. When assisting Lelouch, she frequently wears a yellow scarf.
Personality
Quirky, devoted, sweet and highly protective of the Lamperouge siblings, Sayoko is the closest thing to a mother figure that they have after the death of their mother.
While her calm presentation may indicate an emotionless state, she is actually exceedingly passionate, from simple care-taking of the Lamperouge children to facing an enemy in battle; her apparent indifference is actually representing her highly disciplined nature.
Fitting her upbringing, she has a deep appreciation and understanding of being a warrior, as well as the type of people that can be leaders; hence, she doesn't judge Lelouch for his actions, remaining loyal and supportive.
Despite her tender and kind atmosphere, when her charges are threatened, she moves rapidly and attacks with brutality.
