Norma Selner is a supporting character in the Korean dark fantasy action manhwa and light novel series Solo Leveling. She is an upgrader of the Federal Bureau of Hunters in America.
Appearance
Norma is an elegant African woman with long black curly hair. She typically dorns a tan-colored outfit comprised of an extensive hat and a suit with a navy ribbon and another dress underneath.
Personality
Norma is overall a friendly, well-mannered, and loyal woman with a great sense of morality, willing to support her country with her powers. She has great respect over the S-Rank Korean hunter Sung Jinwoo, after both of them learned with her precognition powers that Jinwoo intends to carry the world on his back by engaging in a war against the Monarchs over a few decades in a near future, begging Jinwoo to not do it as she starts crying.
Powers and Abilities
Unlike other characters with special powers in the series, Norma does not engage in combat nor participate in dungeons. Instead, her ability are suited to improve abilities of others.
- Upgrading: Norma has the unique power to boost a hunter's capabilities by roughly 20-30% beyond their initial potency, a talent unparalleled globally, accompanied by certain limitations, however. Firstly, it involves three distinct phases, making the enhancement process slow rather than immediate. Additionally, it depletes a substantial amount of Norma's magical energy, necessitating a prolonged recovery period before it can be employed again, thus restricting her to augmenting only 3-4 hunters annually. Moreover, this ability is effective solely on individuals who derive their power from external sources. Norma's powers were ineffective on Jinwoo, whose powers have no end to reach.
- Precognition: Norma perceives certain events that has yet to be happen at a certain time in the future. This ability can either be in play through dreams or be in contact with someone's hand. She ultimately used this ability to allow Jinwoo to learn about his destiny to protect the world solely against the Monarchs.
