Nishiki Nishio is a character from the anime and manga series Tokyo Ghoul.
He was voiced by Shintarō Asanuma and Hidetoshi Akutsu (child) in Japanese and Eric Vale and Morgan Berry in English.
Overview
Nishiki is a young Ghoul who is a second year at Kamii University, and an upperclassman to Hide and Kaneki. Before the start of the series, his hunting territory was overtaken by Rize and his efforts to reclaim them place him at odds with Kaneki. He has a human girlfriend, and his devotion to her slowly leads him to change his ways.
Personality
As a child, Nishiki had an older sister who was killed after a human she trusted reported her as a ghoul. Nishio then killed the guy who reported her and decided never to trust anyone. This lasted until his human girlfriend, Kimi, discovered he was a ghoul and not only accepted him but offered to let him eat her, showing him that some humans can be trusted.
Nishiki genuinely loves Kimi to the point where he risks everything to save her, and gives up on hunting humans for her sake. After Kaneki helps him, he returns the favor and feels the need to repay his debt.
