Leon Magnus (Later known as Judas) is a major character from the RPG Fantasy game Tales of Destiny and its Sequel Tales of Destiny II. He is the younger brother of Rutee.
He is voiced by Hikaru Midorikawa in Japanese and voiced by the late Michael Lindsay in English.
Appearance
Leon is a 16-year-old teenager with an androgynous look, featuring short black hair and dark blue eyes. He accessorizes his left ear with a gold earring and is typically seen in a blue long-sleeved shirt with a belt and a white shirt underneath, draped with a pink cape, white leggings, and blue boots.
Upon his resurrection as Judas, he dons a fierce dragon skull mask over his head and his outfit changes into a black bodysuit, accentuated by a purple cape.
His appearance, which is often perceived as feminine, leads to frequent misidentification as a girl by those he encounters, largely because he shares similar features with his older sister, Rutee.
Personality
On the surface, Leon appears cold-hearted, pessimistic, and grouchy due to his harsh upbringing by his father, Hugo. He cares for Maid Marian, who has taken good care of him since he was young. When Marian was taken hostage by his father, Leon was blackmailed by Hugo into betraying his friends in order to save her. He tends to have a negative perspective and becomes irritated quite quickly; however, beneath this exterior, he possesses a heart of gold.
Despite having a sweet tooth, he hides this fact from others because he believes it makes him appear weak.
The Remake presents a more sympathetic view of Leon and tones down some of his rude personality traits. His harshness and distrust of others stem from the abuse he suffered from Hugo. Rather than trying to drown his friends in the cave, he sacrifices himself to help them escape through an elevator, demonstrating that he truly cares for his friends, unlike in the original PSX version.
In the original PSX version, his traits is depicted as significantly more severe, characterized as a mean-spirited jerk who ultimately turns into a traitor, harboring animosity towards the party throughout. Following his defeat, he makes an attempt on Stahn and his companions' lives by deluge them within the cave. He manages to elicit one final laugh before taking his last breath. Subsequently, Leon was resurrected as an undead minion of Miktran, begging his former allies to kill him. This aspect was removed in the remake, where he is revived as a living human by Elraine.
As Judas, he retains his sarcastic and cold traits, but becomes even more caring than his previous life. He is really close to Kyle, his nephew and the son of Stahn. Upon being referred to as Judas, he chooses to conceal his identity from those around him. He is in pursuit of redemption for his acts of treachery.
Biography
Emilio, the second child of Hugo and Chris, is the younger brother of Rutee. His life took a tragic turn when his father lost his sanity and became possessed by Miktran, a force from Karell's Swordian, Berselius, which ultimately resulted in the untimely death of his mother, Chris. Once a kind father, Hugo subjected Emilio to intense knight training and assigned a maid named Marian to cater to his needs. Meanwhile, Rutee was placed in an orphanage to escape the abuse from Hugo. Eventually, Emilio came into possession of the Earth Swordian, known as Chaltier. As he grew into his teenage years, he rose to the rank of knight captain in the Kingdom of Seingald. To distance himself from his abusive father, he chose to adopt the name Leon Magnus.
