Hazel Antoinette Wells is the main protagonist of The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish, the revival/sequel of the series, The Fairly Oddparents.
She is the current godchild of Cosmo Cosma and Wanda Fairywinkle. She is the daughter of Angela and Marcus Wells and the sister of Antony Wells. In the show's theme song, she is described as "feeling all alone" because her brother left for college, which is why she received the fairies.
She is voiced by Ashleigh Crystal Hairston.
Appaerance
Hazel is a 10-year-old African-American girl with curly dark brown hair, brown eyes, and a gap in her front teeth. She wears a blue sweater with pink stripes, blue pants and green sneakers.
Personality
Hazel has a bit of an intellectual edge and tends to overthink things, thanks to her smart mom and dad, so her wishes will have an extra layer of cleverness. However, a little knowledge behind a wish does not necessarily make it a wise wish. Children magically lack critical thinking skills! Hazel cares deeply about other people and fairness (so help yourself when Hazel sees you cutting in line or trashing…), so many of her wishes come from her compassion and her sense of right and wrong. Unfortunately, 10-year-olds don't have a good grasp of nuance and tend to think of justice in black and white, and this will lead to some sticky wishes for Hazel. Hazel is an oddball with unusual interests and instincts. Timmy's whole thing was that he was an average boy with average wants. Hazel is… different, partly because her father studies strange events in human history, partly because her mother studies the human mind (also strange), but also… she is just who she is! She is sensitive, adaptable and full of imagination. This manifests itself in myriad ways, from turning her thoughts into songs and singing them out loud; have specialized obsessions with nature; collect a bunch of twigs, put googly eyes on the twigs and name all the twigs.
Hazel's wishes and adventures inevitably lead to many beautiful, messy mistakes. Hazel will learn from each of these mistakes and grow, just like all children! But Hazel's learning and growth will be full of magic, so it will be much more fun than the slow, boring growth the rest of us have had to put up with.

- Hazel was the first person in the franchise to let her friends, Jasmine and Winn and her brother to be aware of the existence of fairies as well as their knowledge of her having Cosmo and Wanda thanks to her rule-free wish, which was allowing them to keep their memories of fairies, without making them go away.
