Biography
Avan is born from the long line of scholars, the Zinuar family, which explains his smart and hardworking personality. When Princess Flora was attacked by one of the monsters sent by Dark Lord Hadlar, Avan went to save her from it which he was recruited as a knight of the Order of Carl. As a knight, he would often loves to joke around and acting clumsy in order to hide his immense power and true strength, but Flora sees right through it and decide to keep it as a secret. When everyone in Carl Kingdom, including Flora, lose their hope during Hadlar's attack on the world, Avan would often encourage them and lift their spirits by telling them to "scamper around", which earns the laughter from all of them.
During Hadlar's reign of terror, Avan was seen cooking with the maids while teaching them as well, he was dragged outside by his friend and fellow knight Roka, who is angry at him for missing the meeting and remind that he needs to train in order to fight against the Dark Army. When the message was sent on a mirror written by a blood, he translated it and says that Hadlar will come to capture Flora. Later that night, Avan left the fight against Dark Lord Hadlar to gather around Poison Moths and make Coagulant so he could use it against Hadlar and the monsters. He later return back to the castle to help fight against Hadlar and defeated the Dark Lord with a powerful energy slash from a sword, which could be developed into his own technique Avan Strash later on.
The next morning, Avan left the Carl Kingdom on his journey to defeat Hadlar and parting ways with Princess Flora by exchanging gifts with each other. Roka also joins with him as his travelling companion after he puts the one's he trained in charge of protecting the kingdom. During one of his journey, Avan tells both Roka and Leira that he'll be using Secret Spell of Frozen Time against Hadlar and refused to drag them along out of concern over their relationships while revealing that Leira will be having a child with Roka soon, telling them to look after each other. At the desert, he, Matoriv and Brokeena fought against Hadlar and the monsters with Avan releasing Secret Spell of Frozen Time against Hadlar, temporarily freezing them both as result.
During his final journey, Avan and his team went to the Underground Palace in order to defeat Hadlar once and for all. When he encountered the Hell's Gate guardian Bartos, he defeated him and mercifully spared him, which Bartos finally admits defeat and requested him to look after his adopted son Hyunckel. After that, he fought against Hadlar in a final battle and finally defeated him with Avan Strash, thus temporarily killing him before he was revived. As he was about to leave, he saw a young boy named Hyunckel and took him in as his first student, but later discovered his misguided hatred and vengeance towards him. On the day of Hyunckel's graduation, Avan gave him an Insignia of Avan as a graduation gift for him before Hyunckel went to attack him in rage. After accidentally knocking him away to the river, Avan went to search for him but to no avail, while Hyunckel is later rescued by Mystvearn and he was taken back to the Dark Army.
He later took Maam in as his another student and trained her to the point of given her a Magic Bullet Gun and an Insignia of Avan as well. When Popp ran away from Lankirks Village to become one of his disciples, Avan took him in as one of his students as well.
When the Dark Lord Hadlar has returned and continue causing chaos and destruction through the entire world, Popp and Avan travelling to the Dermline Island to meet Dai and train him so he could be prepared to face the Dark Lord. When arriving there, Avan created a large magical golden barrier and casting Glimmer on it to protect the island and freeing all monsters from the Dark Lord's influence. After defeating duo of Gargoyles, Avan began to train Avan and taught him how to mastering Avan Strash, including transforming himself into a dragon which allowed Dai to use Wave Slash against him. However, the training was interrupted as Hadlar returns to get revenge on Avan for defeating him 15 years ago. As Avan was almost defeated, he went out to protect both Dai and Popp from being killed by Hadlar. Before he could sacrifice himself, Avan casted a Kaclang spell on Dai, Popp and Brass to protect them and gave both former the insignias. Avan later proceed to cast a Megante spell on Hadlar and blowing themselves up, but Hadlar survived from the attack and Avan's effort was all for nothing. However, it later turns out that Avan has barely survived from the attack thanks to the Amulet of Carl he has given when he was young.
Following Hadlar's defeat, Dai, Popp and Gomechan went on their journey to defeat the Dark Army and decide to follow Avan's will, while Maam, Hyunckel and Crocodine later recruited and join with them as well. Unbeknowist to Dai and his team, Avan was actually watching them from behind to see their continuing progresses throughout their journey while also avoid joining with them out of concern for their well-being. To improve his purification magic, he went down to the Cave of Trials for the ultimate Purifying Spellcraft because he knew it would help against Dark King Vearn and discovering the approaching final battle after witnessing Princess Leona unleashed Kaglimmer for the first time from behind.
While the heroes are fighting against the Dark Army, Avan secretly went to Loroi Valley behind their back and followed his disciples to Vearn Palace after they did the ritual to cast Kaglimmer to the place. Now Hadlar is finally defeated by Dai, Killvearn used the opportunity to trap Dai, Popp and Hadlar with his Kill Trap and attempt to incinerate them to death until Avan arrives and disabled the trap with a magic feather. Seeing his archenemy is going to die, he and his disciples were mourning for Hadlar before he passed away as he disintegrates himself into a dust. Now reunited with their mentors, the disciples are tearfully overjoyed of seeing him alive. While the disciples are went forward to the central palace, Avan fought against Killvearn and managed to stop him from killing him, but not before the Reaper left the scene and swearing vengeance on him.
When he meets up with his students when they reached to the central palace, Hyunckel coldly mocks him over his weakness ever since his last battle with Hadlar at the Dermline Island, which Avan really admits this to be true. When Avan and his students reached to the main gate, he used the Secret Way of Purification and cast a Click spell to open the gate. While the main trio are having a picnic for lunch at the White Garden, Avan drags Leona to go with him and disable all of Kill Traps set up around the palace. He also gave the feathers to Leona and handled out his leadership to her because he knew that she'll be the one who lead Dai and his friends to the victory and help them fight against the Dark King Vearn.
When he and Leona returns to the White Garden and confront Mystvearn, Avan gets dragged into an empty field by Killvearn where he was challenged for a fight. During their fight, Avan has a difficult time to beat Kill in battle and attempt to unleash Megante but only to be stopped by the "Judge" while Kill leaves him from behind. As he grabbed the Reaper's leg, Killvearn waste no time attempting to cut off his arm, but it was later revealed that Avan's arm wasn't decapitated and he managed to filled his glove with a magic sand called Lunar Zoombloom, which allowed him to return to the real world. Enraged of seeing the former hero survived, Killvearn attempt to kill Avan by incinerating him with an Incinerating Inferno, but only for him to survive with the help of Hadlar's spirit, who is responsible for helping him escape from Kill's empty field. After Avan defeats Kill which cuts his body in half, he agreed with Piroro's request to use the silver feather to put out the flames. Rather than showing gratitude for his mercy, Kill still want to kill Avan by unleashing Phantom Razors on him, but only for him to beheaded since he refused to listen to Avan's warning not to take a close step to his trap.
Return back to the White Garden where his students and their allies fought against Mystvearn, Avan went to save Popp and Brokeena from being annihilated after Myst deflected the former's Medroa spell and disguised himself as Killvearn to learn more about Myst's secret, but Myst became suspicious of him and reveals his disguise in front of the heroes. After Avan revealing that Myst only borrowed Vearn's original body for a safekeeping, Myst has no choice but to admit that the former hero is true before he return back his master's original body back to him. While fighting Myst as he possessed Maam, Avan borrowed Larhart's Dark Armour Spear and used it to unleash Air Strike at him, freeing Maam from being possessed before Myst moved on to Hyunckel to attempt to do the same with her. After Myst was finally destroyed inside Hyunckel's body, Avan tells Maam that he's the one who destroyed the Shadow Vizier in order to prevent her from discovering Hyunckel's dark connections with Mystvearn.
The heroes later went up to Tower of Supremacy to help Dai fight against Vearn. After Maam, Crocodine, Hyunckel, Brokeena and Chiu were trapped inside Eye Jewels, Dai, Popp, Avan, Larhart and Hym are the ones remaining left to fight against Vearn. When Vearn single-handedly defeated them all with Demonic Guard of Heaven and Earth, Avan was trapped inside an Eye Jewel before Larhart and Hym was also trapped as well. When the fight was still continues, Vearn desperately tried to activate the Black Cores to ensure the destruction of the Surface World, but however, Dai and Popp's allies began to move on their own while trapped inside Eye Jewels to attack the Dark King thanks to Leona's request to Gomechan. Later following Gomechan's destruction at the hands of Vearn, Popp and Leona were got sent to the Heart of Vearn along with those who were released from being trapped in an Eye Jewel where they're left to be obliterated once the heart drops onto the surface.
While the others tried many times to escape from the heart, Avan is chosen by Popp to unleash the Grand Cross at the heart for them to escape, but only for Hym to volunteers to do it which almost killed himself in the process after Popp saved him. Following the heroes' escape from the heart, they were later reunited with their allies, with Flora is shocked to discover that Avan is still alive before she faints to the ground. After Dai finally destroyed Vearn once and for all, Avan and the others are finally celebrating over their victory against the Dark Army. When Flora reminded Leona to keep Dai out of her sight so he wouldn't end up like Avan who went to disappear following his last battle with Hadlar, Avan became embarassed and humiliated as his students are making fun of him for this. Shockingly, Killvearn turns out to have survived from being killed and "Piroro" reveals himself as the true mastermind behind the puppet's actions. Before Kill could activate the Black Core on the puppet's head to detonate all of the six Black Cores implanted by Vearn to ensure the Surface World's destruction, Avan threw a golden feather at Kill which Maam later killed him once and for all to stop his madness. Later, everyone were horrified of seeing Dai got caught in explosion as he sacrifice himself alone.
Following Dai's sacrifice, he and the others were searching for him for weeks, but couldn't find him anywhere. While mourning for him as they stared at the Sword of Dai, they were surprised to realized that Dai may come back since he's still alive. The epilogue shows Avan became the king of the Carl Kingdom, implied they were married.
