Tradeable

Tradeable
Drag this into your deck to spend (1) Mana and draw a new card.
Fire Sale(64423)

Tradeable is an ability that was introduced in the United in Stormwind expansion and became an evergreen keyword in Festival of Legends.

While a Tradeable card can be played normally, the player can also drag it into their deck to spend 1 mana, draw a new card, and placing the dragged card into a random spot in their deck. Such action can be called Trade, as suggested by Auctioneer Jaxon. When the player holds a Tradeable card, the deck will be flashed green visually to note that the player can drag into it to trade.

Tradeable cards are represented by a recycling icon below the mana display on the card frame, which is also the place for tri-class icons.

Notes

  • Trading a card does not count as playing a card.
  • Trading a card is a put on deck mechanic, as it does not shuffle the deck.
  • After trading, you draw the top card of your deck. It counts as a drawing effect, like normal.
  • After drawing, the Tradeable card is put into a random spot in your deck. Unlike most moving between zones effects, the card does not lose any enchantment.[1]
  • You can trade a Tradeable card while you have 10 (or max hand size) cards in hand; it doesn't burn the drawn card.
  • You can't trade a Tradeable card if your deck is empty.[2]
  • Tradeable cards can be traded infinite times.[3]

Patch changes

  • Patch 26.0.0.170824 (2023-04-04): Changed to an evergreen keyword.
  • Patch 22.2.0.130051 (2022-01-25): "There was a slight tweak to how Tradeable functions under the hood, which could cause different behavior in certain situations. Tradeable now inserts the card into the deck at a random location, then draws a different card. (Previously, it was put on the bottom of the deck first, then the draw occurred, and then finally a shuffle happened.)"
  • Patch 21.0.0.88998 (2021-07-27): Added.
