Not to be confused with the Pond Depths, the Pond Caves are a small cluster of caves scattered about the Koi Pond and Pond Depths. Most of the caves are fairly insignificant, but some feature special items and locations.
List of Pond Caves
Abomination Totem Cave |
---|
The Abomination Totem Cave is one of the larger caves in Grounded located in a crevice in the stone wall located in the northern section of the pond. It is near the large net and below a pondside floating leaf. It is most useful for the fact it holds the recipe for the Abomination Totem inside at its end. |
Overview
The cave starts inside a crevice between two stones and extends deeper into the rock while also holding some Slime Mold Stalks and some unobtainable Ant Head Totems littering the floor. When the player reaches the end of the corridor, they will reach a surface area that is fairly large and at the end is a Abomination Totem holding its recipe. A Supreme Marble and Supreme Quartzite is also located in this area.
Mossy Key Cave |
---|
The Mossy Key Cave is the one and only cave located in the Pond Depths and holds the Mossy Key used to unlock the chest holding the Sunken Outpost BURG.L Chip. |
Overview
The cave is located behind the collapsed section lab with one of the breakers in it. Specifically the entrance is located on the pond floor to the right of the yellow turbine mount in the rock wall, and it extends very deep. The cave is dark and full of Diving Bell Spiders, so it is recommended to bring a Slime Lantern and a good weapon to deal with the spiders. The main corridor of the cave extends very far until reaching a main corridor with a oxygen cable that spews bubbles slowly, and the key is located at the base of the large root in the center of the room and guarded with multiple spiders.
Oak Lab Cave |
---|
The Oak Lab Cave is the largest cave in the Koi Pond that extends from the Oak Lab to the base of the oak tree located in the Koi Pond. The cave is unique in its appearance of ruined Ominent structures that appear to may have been part of the Oak Lab or possibly a Koi Pond Outpost. |
Overview
The cave can be entered by either via the outside cave area in the Oak Lab through the breach behind BURG.L, or the base of the oak tree in the Koi Pond. The cave extends very deep with its center area holding a ruined lab structure that has a Rotten Slime Lantern in one of its corridors and a SCA.B Scheme in the debris below. The cave also has many pathways that diverge and commonly lead to some Raw Science in the cave, and holds both a Milk Molar, and a Mega Milk Molar behind some soggy roots, which require a Tier 2 dagger to clear.

Rotten Fin Flops Cave |
---|
The Rotten Fin Flops Cave is a small cave that only really holds one Diving Bell Spider and some Rotten Fin Flops near some skeletal remains. |
Overview
The cave is very small and only holds one corridor full of harvestable fungus that leads to a central room with one Diving Bell Spider and some remains with a pair of Rotten Fin Flops located next to it.
Small Oak Cave |
---|
The Small Oak Cave is a very small cave located next to the Oak Lab Cave that holds very little apart from some Slime Mold Stalks. |
Overview
The Small Oak Cave simply extends not very deep into the dirt and only has one patch of Slime Mold. It may be confusing as this cave may be confused to the nearby Oak Lab Cave when exploring the area.
