“Quick to produce, Stalkers excel at running down our enemies in packs and supporting advanced units.” — Barca[1] |
The Stalker is a Beta light ground unit.
The smaller of the two bipedal walkers, the Stalker moves swiftly, firing its front-mounted cannon at long ranges.[2]
Background
The simplest combination of man and machine, the Stalker houses a single Beta firing a single, large cannon. The bipedal legs of the Stalker are repurposed hydraulic lifts scrapped from the remains of their derelict spacecraft.
It was originally shaped like a large creature in order to ward off smaller, aggressive animals, but Ecosystem Nine features very few of these. Still, the design has survived many iterations.
Overview
“New direction orders!” — Stalker |
One of two bi-pedal walkers in the Beta arsenal, the Stalker is a swift unit with a powerful front-mounted cannon. Each volley can send a heavy, piercing round over long distances, making the Stalker effective against heavily armored enemies.
Tips
- Though more expensive and having a longer build time than the Commando, the Stalker is a powerful starting unit that is effective even in late game situations.
- The Stalker’s piercing attack makes it effective against heavily armored units.
- The stealth sniper upgrade gives stealth while moving, allowing Stalkers to execute deadly hit and run attacks.
