Guardian

“If the enemy finds us, the best defensive weapons we have are the aptly named Guardians. The firepower they can unleash is so powerful, that they can only fire when securely mounted to a hard-point. It doesn't take many to keep very large forces at bay until reinforcements arrive.”
Barca[1]

The Guardian is a Beta defensive unit.

Guardians have rapid-fire cannons that expel so much counter force that they must anchor themselves to special fortifications like walls.

Background

The Guardian was created to fill a necessary role in the Beta army - stationary defenses. Mounted atop special Turrets, they are the epitome of offensive and defensive power. Generals in the Beta army assumed most enlisted would prefer the safety and ease of a defensive post. In a true testament to Beta determination, most volunteered for the most difficult and dangerous jobs.

Overview

Guardians wield a rapid-fire cannon on the back of their chassis. It expels so much force that Guardians have to anchor themselves to a special fortification point in order to fire. Guardians are capable of destroying groups of both air and ground units in a short time. They cannot fire unless mounted.

Tips

  • While the Beta do not have turrets to protect their base, a group of Guardians mounted to a wall serve the purpose just as well.
  • Guardians are not able to fire their weapons unless they are mounted on a wall pillar.
  • Guardians can shoot both air and ground units.

Tech upgrades

Long-range ballistics
The Guardian's ground weapon becomes a long range artillery shot.
