Heaven

Aziraphale... we are the good guys. Okay? We're not killing anyone. What we are doing is simply not stopping Hell. What they do is up to them.

–Gabriel

Heaven is a recurring location in the Prime Video series Good Omens. It's the place where most Angels work and fulfill their duties, as well as where righteous people go to in their afterlife.

Appearance

Heaven seems to be one big space in which individual rooms don't exist. It resembles one big floor of a tall building with frequent pillars supporting the ceiling. It appears to be endless without any objects in sight, with occasional exceptions.

Another significant detail is that Heaven entirely consists of the color white. The floor, wall, ceiling, pillars, and even windows only appear as white, making Heaven visually a very bright place.

Some Angels, such as Michael or Muriel, have their own offices in Heaven. These offices consist solely of a desk and a chair in the middle of nowhere. Things like folders and documents are miracled into existence, which Muriel does in Season 2.

Heaven's top floor shows multiple landmarks that can be seen from outside the windows, such as the Shard, the Empire State Building, the London Eye, the Eiffel Tower, the Cuillin Mountains, and the Pyramids. Small buildings and houses are also seen in between these landmarks. The view from Heaven makes these landmarks visible all at once.[1]

Additionally, there exists a precise replica of planet Earth, which levitates and rotates over the floor. Aziraphale interacts with it in Season 1 to transport his discorporated self back to London on earth. Saraqael interacts with it to investigate what the reason was for the alarms that went off in Heaven in Season 2.

Notes and trivia

  • Heaven's top floor was filmed in the Sky Garden restaurant in London.[2]
  • There is a main entrance to both Heaven and Hell, which is seen in Season 1. In Season 2, it is more common for angels to just miracle a lift that goes up to Heaven, as seen by Muriel and Metatron.[3]
  • Heaven seems to have multiple transportation possibilities. Most Angels walk, Saraqael uses a flying wheelchair (and a normal one on earth), and some angels even use hoverboards.
