Prologue

Jiro Sayama is walking out of an empty building when a Horror, Chaurus who have assimilated into a human named Miwako, stalks him through nearby advertising displays. Revealing her presence, Chaurus sadistically taunts him leading the man to other part of the building. Unfortunately for her, by the time she corners him, Ryūga shows up and interrupts her hunt by saving the man. Zaruba remarks how the city is full of karma like the one they visited prior, at which Ryūga comments how fruitful their progress so far. Battling Miwako, Ryūga aggravates her to unveil her Demon Beast form by preventing her from escaping into a nearby display before summoning Garo armor and subsequently dispatching her.

Ryūga continues his Horror hunt when he suddenly calls Koyori, the Makai Priestess who followed him for quite some time, to come out of hiding. Koyori asks for his assistance as the opening of Gate of Destruction is around the corner, which intrigues the Golden Knight as she also provides Orders Document from Mutsugi which curiously in purple envelope.

As they arrive at Creacity, Ryūga asks Koyori why she thinks the Gate is about to open. Koyori explains that Horror emergence in the city is more frequent as of recent months, citing that people who have less amount of karma to warrant assimilation with Horrors end up as susceptible. She elaborates that Gate of Destruction has the power to increase a person's karma and lead them to darkness thus might has something to do with it. Zaruba notices a strange smell in the city, much to Ryūga's confusion. Decides to worry about it later, Ryūga asks if there is already a Makai Knight in the city, to which Koyori avoids answering despite not denying it. Koyori asks Ryūga about his impression regarding the city, which Ryūga responded it to be a lively place. Being growing up in Creacity herself, the impressed Koyori makes it clear to Ryūga her desire to protect it and everyone within.

At the construction site in nearby part of the city, Sugita informs Tsutomu that he is in trouble for bad building practices and that any involvement of the former has been erased. As Tsutomu panics because Sugita already made it clear the police won't be able to help him, a Horror, appearing as a seducer in red hair accompanied by lamps in the room flickering, convinces Tsutomu to kill Sugita and his employees since he supposedly didn't do anything wrong. Having assimilated by the Horror in courtesy of the seducer unknown to Sugita and his cohorts, Tsutomu, now Regrege kills them with a hammer save for the last one whom he stalks for managing to escape.

Back to Ryūga and Koyori, the Golden Knight senses what Tsutomu had become with Zaruba pointing it out, much to the Makai Priestess' shock from inability to do the same. The duo manage to save Sugita's remaining cohort from Regrege but, the Golden Knight has a hard time fighting the Horror who unveiled his Demon Beast form until he and Koyori push him into retreating. Ryūga chases the Horror while Koyori evacuates the terrified man. The Golden Knight corners Regrege only for an unexpected interloper, a fellow Makai Knight in [[|Hagane|Hagane Armor]], leaps into the scene.

Although clad in lesser Makai Armor variant, this titleless Knight is tougher than Ryūga expected to be, easily battering Regrege, destroying the latter's hammer into pieces with well-timed block before defeating him, and finally cutting the Horror down. Ryūga would've been impressed... had the titleless Makai Knight not made such a poor impression on him and welcomed him into the city. This didn't help by said Knight's standoffish behavior as he warns Ryūga to not interfere in the affairs of Creacity as it should be his duty alone in protecting it, much to Koyomi's chagrin as she has no chance to explain why she invited Ryūga in the first place. It is when Ryūga learned the titleless Knight's name, Souma Shirahane, and why she was so reluctant to elaborate whether there are other Knights beside him in the city.
