Tires are somewhat rare items found in Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Kong Land. In both games, tires function in the same way. They are quite bouncy, allowing for greater height, often to reach Bonus Stages, bananas, or barrels. Pushable tires can be pushed by walking into them, while half-buried tires cannot be moved at all. While pushable tires can sometimes be found floating in the air, half-buried tires are always stuck in the ground.
Tires later reappear in Jungle Jinx, a stage of Lost World from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. Here, the tires roll on the ground by themselves. They are much larger than the tires in DKC and DKL, enabling the Kongs to jump much higher. However, due to their larger sizes, they can be dangerous if they push the Kongs off a ledge, or if they land on a Kong.
Their latest appearance was DK Jungle Climber, where they can in several colors can floated, often used for getting DK Coins.
