Background
The song was first revealed around 2017-2018, when Doja Cat shared an image of the original track listing of Amala before its release. This track list consists of a few tracks that never ended up making the final cut, one of which including "Win or Lose". The song can be viewed as the sixth track in the "alt tracks".
During Instagram Live on December 11, 2021, Doja played some old unreleased songs, including a short snippet of "Win or Lose".
