
Overwatch is a game universe created by Blizzard Entertainment. It is a class-based first-person shooter featuring a cast of "heroes" each team may choose from. It was released on May 24, 2016, on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

- Diablo as a video game franchise appears to exist in the universe of Overwatch.
- The character Brigitte seems to be inspired by the Crusader class.
- Moira has a skin that makes her look like Lilith. She has unique voicelines.
- Pharah has a skin that makes her look like Inarius. She's the announcer of "Trials of Sanctuary".
- Reinhardt has a skin that makes him look like Imperius.
- Roadhog has a skin that makes her look like The Butcher and has an unique voiceline "Fresh meat".
- A Sombra skin in the style of a Demon Hunter from Diablo III was given to players who have attended or purchased a virtual ticket for BlizzCon 2018. She has unique voicelines.
- Wrecking Ball has a skin that makes it look like Azmodan.
- Zarya has a skin that makes her look like a Barbarian from Diablo III.
- In some spawning points, there are various arcade machines that reference different Blizzard franchises. There are machines named "Soulstone: Demon-Slayer" which depicts a run and slash featuring a male Barbarian, a female Demon Hunter and a female Monk against what appear to be demons and a Treasure Goblin. There are also some machines named Fighters of the Storm (a reference to Heroes of the Storm) which show the character Tyrael.
- In the offense spawning point of the Route 66 level, there is a check for $5.00 signed by Deckard Cain with the date 5/15/12, which was the release date of Diablo III. There is also a barcode unde the signature that can produce the message "Cain lives".
- In the Dorado map, several piñatas depict Diablo.
- In the Eichenwalde map, the horns of Diablo are mounted in the hunting lodge.
- The Blizzard World map has multiple Diablo elements, along with Blizzard's other IPs. Areas includes: Caldeum Market, Den of Evil, Reign of the Black King (Leoric's Manor), New Tristram, Shen's Delights, Slaughtered Calf Inn, Tristram Cathedral, and Tyrael's Fall (Silver Spire).
- The announcer in the Tristram Cathedral, Reign of the Black King and New Tristram area is reminiscent of Deckard Cain, who will say his iconic "Stay awhile and listen" phrase and mention many characters such as Queen Acylla and King Leoric aswell.
- A tribute room to Michael Morhaime was added to the map, with a picture of Morhaime wearing his trademark shirt with the terran symbol. In addition, the release dates for the various Diablo titles are shown along the wall.
- Torbjörn has an introductory voiceline when selected "What kin I do fer ya?" referencing Griswold.
- The Diablo-themed Season 6 of Overwatch 2 was named "Rise of Darkness" with a gamemode named "Trials of Sanctuary" taking place in the last part of Blizzard World. Pharah takes the role of the announcer Inarius reflecting many events from all Diablo videogames.
