Surprise! is the second segment of the sixteenth episode in season 2 of Dexter's Laboratory. It first aired on October 29, 1997.

In this episode, it's Dexter's birthday and he wants to get a Major Glory action figure. After Mom tells him not to "snoop in her closet", Dee Dee stands guard and gives Dexter the idea of turning himself invisible.

Notes

• This is the first episode where a character's birthday is celebrated, with the character in question being Dexter. The second episode to feature this is "The Laughing", in which it is Dee Dee's birthday.
• Dexter is revealed to be eight years old.

Goofs/Errors

• When Mom and Dad head out of the house, the door is seen open. However, in the next frame, the door is closed.
  • This also occurs when they get back from shopping.
• In the episode, there isn't a door to the kitchen in the beginning. However, near the end of the episode, a door is seen to the kitchen.

Production Notes

• Although this episode along with "Techno Turtle" and "Got Your Goat" aired on 1997, they were produced in the same year according to the credits.
