Synopsis for "So Within"

On the Watchtower Irey shows the Justice League, including one of the versions of Wally, that the rage outbreaks form a circle centered on Skartaris when viewed on a globe from above. The hotspots form six points of the seven-pointed star mentioned by Weather Wizard, with the seventh somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean. They fly there in the Javelin and find a tower rising from the waters. Doctor Occult is already on the scene and describes the tower as a "psychic-thaumaturgic construct" and starts scanning it with the Symbol of the Seven. However, Inspector Pilgrim emerges through a portal from the future and claims it is a form of temporal anomaly. The other heroes wearily refer to the two as a W.E.S. Outbreak- Wandering Esoteric Smartass. Wally experiences a sudden burst of rage and smashes through a wall of the tower, then just as suddenly calms down again.

In Skartaris the other Wally suffers a headache, seemingly effected by what happened to his counterpart. The Wests and Warlord's retinue arrive at Morgan's flying castle Skyra-shaam, where the people appear to be throwing a party. Warlord introduces them to his queen Tara, but tells them that they are no longer married and that he is now in a relationship with Y'hil. Jai tries to tell Wally what he can see around Warlord but Wally reveals he can see it too, and quietly tells Jai to teleport to Irey and bring the Justice League to Skartaris as they have a "Code Black-3" situation. Wally pulls out a sword he took from the Stillness and tells Warlord to surrender, saying that he knows who he really is. Jai grabs Foxy and tries to teleport away, but finds that he can't. "Warlord" says that he is in control of Skartaris' magics and Jai isn't going anywhere unless he allows it, revealing that he is possessed by Eclipso.

Eclipso easily overpowers Wally and describes all the horrible ways he could destroy him, but then casually lets him drop to the ground. He unveils an ancient Atlantean machine and Wally demands to know what he is doing in Skartaris. Linda notices that nobody reacted to what happened and everyone seems blissfully happy for no reason. Eclipso tells them that the machine allows the user to reshape reality and the Atlanteans built it to eliminate evil, but he has better ideas for it. Wally asks why Eclipso lured him down to Skartaris and Eclipso casually replies that he wanted Wally to kill Y'hil for him.

Wally pushes Linda and Wade into an ancient teleporter and sends them to the surface to be safe from Eclipso. They emerge on the tower in the Atlantic with Irey and the other Wally. Linda yells at Wally for deceiving her until Irey interrupts and asks where Jai is. Somewhere else Jai and Foxy materialise in an underground chamber at the bottom of a long staircase.

Back on Skartaris, the strangely mellow Eclipso tells Wally that he promised Y'hil he would make her his queen if she defeated the greatest champions of Skartaris, expecting her to get killed and sparing himself an awkward breakup conversation, but she just kept winning. Wally, baffled by Eclipso's behaviour, asks why he doesn't just kill her himself and Eclipso replies that he loves her and it would upset the rest of the court. Eclipso reveals that he has used the machine to drain anger and hate from everyone, including himself, and transformed it into happiness. He shoots Wally with a blast of pure happiness from the machine, leaving him smiling beatifically on the floor. On the surface, energy blasts from the top of the tower and the other Wally flies into a rage, blaming his counterpart for screwing up. Meanwhile, Jai and Foxy climb the staircase and emerge at the lip of a huge crater, discovering that they are on the Moon.
