Bug

Bug is a name used by several characters from the DC Universe.

The first Bug was the criminal Bernard Bonner, who along with his sister Blythe Bonner aka Byte, fought Firestorm on several occasions. The second Bug was a member of the Maximums; a team of "superheroes" from a universe created by the Joker and Mr. Mxyzptlk. Other characters named Bug were doppelgangers also created as a pastiche of Spider-Man. The Bug from Earth-6 was a superhero and his Earth 8 counterpart was a member of the Retaliators; the mightiest superhero team from their Earth.

Bernard Bonner was created by Gerry Conway and Rafael Kayanan, first appearing in Firestorm (Volume 2) #23 (1984). Bug from Maximums was created as a pastiche of Marvel Comics' superhero Spider-Man by Jeph Loeb, first appearing in in Superman/Batman #22 (2005). Bug from Earth-6 was created by Grant Morrison, first appearing in Final Crisis: Superman Beyond  #1 (2008); and the Earth 8 version was created by Morrison and Ivan Reis, first appearing in The Multiversity  #1 (2014).
