Description
When a dying boxing referee makes a confession about a 1976 fight, the team re-opens the case in which an underdog fighter, arranged to fight against a much more qualified boxer, took a heavy beating in the match and died only moments afterwards.
Meanwhile, Scotty still blames himself for Elisa's suicide and finds solace in Lilly's sister, Christina.
Synopsis
Opens on a fight scene. Two men are boxing in a ring, one taking a heavy beating. A woman in the crowd says to herself, "I love you, Jerry." He continues to get hit, then falls down dead. Sonny, the ring leader, is on his death bed. He tells them he was paid $1500 to let the fight go. He passes after stating so.
Jeffries visits Valens at home. Valens makes excuses for missing Jeffries' calls. Will tell Scottie he can relate to what he's going through and he's available to talk. He leaves.
The team looks through the box for clues. They look for Gina, the woman in the crowd. She was Sonny's daughter and Jerry's girlfriend. They realize she was not at the hospital for her father's death. Rush and Jeffries go to speak to her. She said her father was not a fan of Jerry.
Flashback Gina and Jerry flirt at the theater. Jerry tells Gina she looks like Adrienne from Rocky.
Present: Scotty starts dating Christina Rush.

Notes
- The episode is based on the 1976 film Rocky (also set in Philadelphia), which, in turn, was inspired by writer and star Sylvester Stallone witnessing journeymen boxer Chuck Wepner manage fifteen rounds in the ring against then-heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali, though ultimately losing in a TKO.
- Mo being paid to "take a dive" in the first round was another reference to Rocky, as the title character managed to knock down Apollo Creed in the first round. (This too was inspired by the Wepner fight, as Wepner managed to knock down Ali, though not until the ninth round).
- This episode marks Paul Jenkins' final role before his retirement shortly afterwards. He died about eight years later, on July 1, 2013.
- The 1967 play, The Great White Hope, a play that actor Paul Jenkins was in, was referenced to. The play and film adaptation are also about boxing and a boxer's career, as well as the fight against racial discrimination.
