Description
CITY takes place in a metropolis in Japan known only as "the City." The City is populated by a number of eccentric individuals, featuring an ensemble cast, and the series captures small moments in their everyday lives, which almost always escalate into farcical hijinks.
Starting off with a similar set of characters and humor, CITY presents itself as the spiritual successor to Nichijou, but the connections of the two are quickly revealed to be much deeper.
Officially, the main protagonists are the Mont Blanc Trio. However, in practice the Mont Blanc Trio are only one group among many, and the majority of CITY's chapters follow other characters. Among the major groups of characters are the Makabe Family, the Adatara Family, the CITY Weekly Editorial Department, the Theather Troupe Tekaridake, and more.
