Recap
Joe welcomes us in and we can't help but notice that the Blue's Clues house is decorated with hearts everywhere. Joe tells us that it's "Love Day" and shows us that Blue made a Love Day card that says "Blue loves you." He sings about it, "it's love, love, love." Just then, another heart-shaped card appears and flutters to the floor. It turns out that it's for Joe! Joe's excited - somebody loves him! The card isn't signed, though, so he doesn't know who sent it. In this episode, we and the various characters of the show explore love. To get things going, Side Table Drawer gives us a heart-shaped handy-dandy notebook to use. We head into the kitchen, where the 1st clue was found on a mop. After drawing the clue in the notebook, we find Mr. Salt, who says that it's time for a snack. Cinnamon and Paprika are there and he gives them heart-shaped cookies. Cinnamon says that he loves him, and Mr. Salt tells him that he loves him, too. But this makes Paprika, cry because she thinks that Mr. Salt, as her father, doesn't love her. Mr. Salt tells her that this isn't true - after all, she loves more than one person, doesn't she? Paprika thinks about this and realizes that it's true. Next, we find Shovel and Pail outside in the backyard, making a sand castle. Then, Shovel accidentally knocks it down and Pail gets upset. Shovel tells us that Pail's angry at him, and he wants to know if we think she still loves him. Shovel and Pail work out their situation and we learn that sometimes you can get angry at someone, but it doesn't mean you don't love them anymore. Later on, it was time for Joe to get the mail. After that, Blue finds The Book of Love and Joe skidoos into it after her. There, we find a tale about a prince and a princess who were in love. To keep track of things, we listen to the story and recall what happens, so that Blue can write it down. The story goes like this: a prince and a princess were in a love, but a magic spell turned the prince into a heart. He then floated up so high that the princess couldn't reach him and a strong wind started blowing him away. The princess followed the prince through a forest and up a mountain. She finally got close enough to reach him as a heart and hugged him, turning him back into a prince. The lesson of the story is that you should always follow your heart.
In Blue's Room, Blue takes the story of Cinderella out of the bookshelf and talks about it. She thinks that Cinderella is "so dreamy." Blue wonders if Cinderella got married to her Prince Charming, so Moona brings her into the playroom to talk about it. She says that the prince's name is Charlie and that they did get married. These days, she's making shoes that don't fall off, so people won't lose them like she lost her glass slipper. Not only that, she's a mother now - she shows a picture of her baby named Ella. Prince Charlie is home taking care of her. Blue asks about her stepsisters, saying the way they treated her wasn't very nice. Cinderella says that she had a talk with them and things are okay now. After Blue leaves the playroom, Joe shows the viewers a Love Day card that he made them while they were gone. In a segment following the show, Blue answers a question submitted online from Jose. He asks what her favorite musical instrument is, and she answers that it's the trumpet because she "loves the way it sounds".

Trivia
- The princess and the prince did not appear at the end of the episode because they were very busy.
- The following scenes from this episode were used in the intro for the Blue's Room episode Snacktime Playdate:
- Blue blowing a kiss at The Viewer.
- Roary and Polka Dots kissing Blue.
- Blue hugging Cinderella.
- Danielle Brown, a relative of Content Consultant Laura G. Brown, is one of Joe's Friends in this episode.
- This is the only episode where the entire notebook is a different shape, as opposed to just its cover artwork being different.
- Many changes were made for this season starting with this episode:
- This episode introduces a new opening sequence that still includes Another Blue's Clues Day, but also features the puppet version of Blue from Blue's Room opening the pop-up book from her playroom before Moona changes her into her animated form. And after Joe says, "Come on in!", Blue does not sing "Bow, bow, bow" like in Season 5 (although it will be used by accident in the episode Playdates). Also, the title pennant flag never matches the color of Joe's shirt, unlike most of Season 5.
- This episode was the first to feature a modified and shorter version of Play Blue's Clues, with the lyrics "To play Blue's Clues we have to find three pawprints," instead of individual lines discussing each pawprint. This is most likely an attempt to save time due to the Blue's Room segments. Plus, the song got a semitone higher (A-flat major) for a reason unknown.
- The video letters and end credits sequence seem to run a bit shorter starting with this episode for Mailtime and The Legend of the Blue Puppy (which was broadcasted before this episode) for the closing credits sequence.
- All of the credits in this season are fast except for "Skidoo Adventure" and "Joe's Clues."
- Following the solving of Blue's Clues and the resulting activity, Blue visits Blue's Room, where she participates in two games.
- Starting with this episode, The So Long Song is replaced by The Goodbye Song, which is most likely another attempt to save time due to the Blue's Room segments.
- The Mailtime and We Are Gonna Play Blue's Clues songs are the only parts of the show that were unchanged, both reusing the same audio from Can You Help?.
- This is the only episode of the original series which Cinnamon talks.
- This is the second and final time Paprika cries. The first time was in "Nurture!".
- Pail gets mad at Shovel for knocking down her sandcastle and fight each other.
- Similarly, in "I Did That!", Shovel gets mad at Tickety Tock for knocking down his block tower by her car and Duck gets mad at Purple Kangaroo for grabbing his toy dinosaur.
- In Blue's Sad Day, Purple Kangaroo feels the same way when Green Puppy steals his book.
- In Blue Is Frustrated, Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper feel the same way to themselves when they can't finish three parts of the sandwich.
- In Blue's Play, the real cow feels the same way when the hippo turns her back and the hippo also feels the same way when the mouse did the Silly Dance to make her roar and chase him by charging down the hill, despite the fact that the Silly Dance that the mouse was doing was the one that the hippo didn't like the sound of.
- In I'm So Happy!, Mary Ann feels the same way when someone took her swing.
- In Story Wall, Rebecca feels the same way when Robbie was told by her that he forgot to pack her sandwich, despite the fact that she was hungry.
- In Body Language, Blue feels the same way in the answer.
- In Blue Takes You to School, Orange Kitten feels the same way to Periwinkle after getting splashed by the submarine and Miss Marigold feels the same way to Periwinkle and Purple Kangaroo when they fight over who should be the line leader, which is not fair, as well as the same way to Periwinkle alone after noticing that building time is not on the schedule.
- This is the only episode where Pail was mad, but Shovel fights with her.
- In this episode, the princess feels sad when she finds out that the prince was a heart.
- Similarly, in I Did That!, Blue feels the same way when Orange Kitten pushes her.
- In Blue's Sad Day, Blue also feels the same way when Green Puppy knocks down her block tower and Sidetable Drawer feels the same way when Steve didn't say "Please!".
- In What's That Sound?, the baby in the movie feels the same way, crying after noticing that his balloon got destroyed while the janitor went past him.
- In Making Changes, Big Sister Bear feels the same way when Baby Baby Bear takes the toy rabbit and walks away.
- In I'm So Happy!, Felix feels the same way when he can't put the ball in the basket.
- In Story Wall, the rabbits feel the same way when Robbie lost the directions while they walked in the woods, that way they were going to set them aside for good and replace them with the eagle, who will give them a ride.
- When the wind blows the heart away, the princess could've sadly said, "Come back!".
- When the princess catches the heart, she could've said, "Gotcha!".
- This is the first episode where Thomas Sharkey voices Shovel.
- This is the first episode where Nicole Gibson voices Pail, replacing Julia Wetherell.
- Cinderella's pumpkin coach appeared in the Book of Love, named after the song by the late musicians of the Monotones.
- When Joe skidooed into the book, the music was the same for the Cinderella from "What Story Does Blue Want to Play?."
- Joe wears a green squared shirt in this episode.
- Blue's vocals for the Play Blue's Clues song are re-recorded for this episode only, due to the song's pitch being increased by a semitone.
- This is the last episode where the Pawprint makes sounds.
- Mr. Salt appears without Mrs. Pepper, but he did not appear again with her in the end credits.
- This is the second episode to use the word "jealous". The first time this happened was in Body Language by Periwinkle.
- This is the only time Blue in her puppet form does not say, "Time to go see Joe. Bye, playroom friends." until Blue's Wishes.
- When it was time for Joe to get the mail, he wishes Shovel and Pail happy love day and they wish him good luck. Joe keeps them busy to make the new sand castle together, which is called teamwork.
- In this episode, the surprise guest to who loves Joe is Cinderella.
- In this episode, Sidetable Drawer says, "Not me!", Paprika says, "No!", Mr. Salt says, "Not me!", Cinnamon says, "Sorry!", Pail says "Not me!", Shovel says, "Me neither!", Mailbox says, "No!", and the princess says, "Sorry, Joe. It wasn't us!" which is a reference to what the chicken's friends said in the story of the Little Red Hen, when she was referred to as that.
- In the Blue's Room segment, Cinderella jumps out of the book and goes back into it, just like Pail's Horse in Blue's Wishes, which will happen again later. The same thing also happened to Mother Goose in the Barney special.
- When the prince changes back from a heart to himself, he says, "The end!".
- In this episode, Pail says, "Oh, no!" in an angry voice and the princess says the same thing in a sad voice, just like Big Sister Bear in "Making Changes" and Slippery in "Joe's First Day". This also happened in Blue's Big Musical, where Slippery also says, "Oh, no!" and Pail also says the same thing quietly about Slippery, who just slipped and in Joe's Surprise Party, Mr. Salt says it loudly as he carries the balancing hats which try to fall all the way to the table and he also says the same thing quietly after Joe says, "Helloooo?!" and Mr. Salt covers Joe.
- This is the first time Blue says, "Well, come on!". She will say it again later in "Soccer Practice" after she says, "I'll see you tomorrow!" to Doodle, who says, "Doodle-oo, Blue!".
- When Joe sings The Goodbye Song, he adds an extra line of dialogue, which is "And happy love day!".
- A harp plays in the credits.
- Before Blue skidoos, Joe says, "The Book of Love. I wonder who wrote it?" which means it's a reference to the part "I wonder, wonder, who, who-oo-ooh, who, who wrote the book of love?" in the song by the late musicians of the Monotones.
- In the letter, the girl says, "All done!" before saying "Bye, Joe!".
- This is Joe's version of Nurture! and Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper Day.
- In this episode, Cinderella celebrates Joe Day.
Goofs
- While playing the Blue's Clues song:
- Blue takes out the regular version of the handy dandy notebook instead of the heart-shaped variant of it.
- Even though this was the first episode to use a shorter version of the song, it still includes the Pawprint! and Clue! from What Does Blue Want to Make?. This mistake was fixed in the next episode.
- Blue's bark comes in too early when Joe sings "Sit down in our thinking chair and think!".
- When the answer to Blue's Clues is revealed, the second clue does not nod itself.
