“ | Deadly killer bees fly twice as fast and pop bloons three times as fast! | ” |
~ Bloons TD 4 Mobile Description |
Killer Bees is the third upgrade for the Beekeeper in Bloons TD 4. It is unlocked with the tower itself. The upgrade increases the bee projectile speed by double its original speed, and the frequency of bees' damage is increased by over triple their original amount, to 1 damage every 0.15s instead of 1 damage every 0.483s.
This upgrade costs $1530 on Easy, $1800 on Medium, and $1945 on Hard.
Mechanics
The Beekeeper's bees now move twice as fast, allowing them to finally catch up to Pink Bloons. In addition, their damage over time effect is improved from 1 damage every 0.483s to 1 damage every 0.15s
.
Targeting Priorities
Killer Bees Beekeepers use the standard target priorities: First, Last, Weak, and Strong.
Beekeepers will not attack bloons that already have a bee attached and will instead prioritize attacking new ones. Their bee projectiles aggressively seek whatever bloon the Beekeeper targeted. If this specific beekeeper has deployed 10 bees, then it will stop attacking.
Strategy
Summary
This upgrade is potent for whittling down moderate clumps of Ceramics. This upgrade is fairly expensive, and is poor against MOABs or swarms of normal bloons. This makes this upgrade very niche in usability.
Tips
- This upgrade's strengths is with rapidly removing the outer shell of multiple Ceramic Bloons. Do note that the bees still do not persist to multiple children, and other alternatives should be used to handle child bloons.
- One advantage Killer Bees has over some other alternatives at the same price point is its large range, making this more useful on multi-lane maps, as it can cover multiple lanes easier.
