Suhyeon (Hangul: 수현; also stylized as Suhyun or Su-hyun) is a South Korean singer under MYSTIC Story. She is one of the main vocalists and lead dancers in the girl group Billlie.
When promoting as a solo artist, Suhyeon goes by her full name Kim Su-hyun.
Career
2016: Produce 101
Suhyeon appeared as a contestant on the survival-reality show Produce 101, representing MYSTIC Entertainment. She was eliminated in the show's fifth episode after ranking 69th place.[3] It was later revealed that she was one of two contestants in Season 1 who were victimized by vote manipulation, leading to her unfair elimination.
2017–2018: Acting debut, MIXNINE
In September of 2017, Suhyeon made her acting debut in the drama Girls' Generation 1979, playing the role of Kim Ki-ryeo.
In October of the same year, she became a contestant on the survival-reality show MIXNINE, again representing MYSTIC. She made it to the final episode, but was eliminated when the men's team won against the women's team.[4]
In 2018, Suhyeon booked her most notable acting role yet as Yeo Bo-ram in the Naver series A-Teen.
2019-2020: Solo Debut, MYSTIC Rookies
On June 29, 2019, Suhyeon made her debut as a soloist with her first digital single "Around The World", along with the accompanying music video which showcased her A-Teen character Yeo Bo-ram. That same day, a live version of the song was released on MYSTIC Story's YouTube channel.
On February 18, 2020, she was officially revealed as a member of the trainee group MYSTIC Rookies.[5]
2021: Debut with Billlie
On October 4, 2021, Suhyeon was confirmed as the fourth member of Billlie.[6] The group debuted on November 10 with their first mini album The Billage of Perception : Chapter One.[7]
2023-2024: Hiatus
On June 15, 2023, Mystic Story announced that Suhyeon would be taking an indefinite hiatus due to health reasons. She remains on hiatus and it is currently unknown when she will return.
On April 11, 2024, MYSTIC Story announced that Suhyeon, along with fellow member Sua, would both be officially returning to group activities .
