Beast Hunter

Beast Hunters are professional Midkemian monster-hunters who are usually accompanied by Beast Hounds. They are mentioned in Krondor: The Betrayal.

Overview

As the dwarves of the Mac Mordain Cadal are too busy repairing a mine collapse to hunt down the Brak Nurr plaguing the mine, Dubal An Loch asks Locklear if he has met "one of those Armengar monster hunters" while traveling back from up north. Locklear explains to Owyn that Dubal is referring to Beast Hunters, and fondly recalls having run into one and his Beast Hound while traveling with Prince Arutha away from a band of moredhel. Though the situation turned out to be a trap, it did save them from the moredhel. Locklear believes that those Beast Hunters who remain can be found in the hills of northern Yabon.^[1]

• The events recalled by Locklear probably occurred in Silverthorn or A Darkness at Sethanon.
