Casting Accuracy, listed as Accy: Casting on Skills pages, is a Skill which can be practiced by magician player characters in Betrayal at Krondor. It increases the accuracy of ranged combat spells cast in battle.
As the Skill is only applicable to magicians, it can only be raised in Owyn Beleforte, Patrus, and Pug.
Overview
The accuracy of ranged combat spells such as Flamecast and Fetters of Rime depends on the caster's Accy: Casting Skill. At higher levels, ranged spells will miss their targets less frequently.
Increasing Skill
Accy: Casting can be increased by using ranged spells in combat, especially if it is the only Skill selected; the party can take advantage of repeated combats, such as combat-blocked routes to inaccessable areas, the Prelate's house, and Ockie's house, are particularly useful for this. Party members can boost the Skill by reading Dorcas' Treatise, and Owyn's Skill can be increased by visiting Brother Marc and Cullich. The Skill can also receive a temporary boost if the party member carries a Staff of Macros or imbibes Lewton's Concentrate before battle.

- Pug, the undisputed master magician on Midkemia, joins the party with this Skill already at 100%.
- Repeated-combat areas are also useful in raising the Defense, Accy: Crossbow, and Accy: Melee Skills.
