- "Uh, that one knows me. Followed me. We - they made it. In the lab, on LV-895. It came up here with us. We didn't know until... The woman who - the one it came out of. Her name was Monica."
- ―Dr Timothy Hoenikker regarding "Monica" (from Aliens: Fireteam Elite)
Three, also known as Test Subject #3 or "Monica", was a Xenomorph Drone, born on LV-895 in 2202.
Born from the serial killer Monica Enright aboard Pala Station, Monica eventually managed to escape containment under the leadership of fellow Drone, Seven. It began stalking the corridors of the orbital refinery Katanga.
Characteristics and Traits
Monica was a large Xenomorph Drone named after its host, Monica Enright. Timothy Hoenikker, one of the doctors that survived the infestation on LV-895, was terrified of the alien and was also psychologically affected by it, as he was close to its host.
Monica was mutated by the pathogen, leaving it with dark, leathery skin with an odd grey striping. Monica was also more dangerous and aggressive than other Drones, being quite tall and capable of sustaining heavy gunfire.
Biography
Birth
Three was born in 2202 on Pala Station, a classified Weyland-Yutani research facility on LV-895, where twelve Xenomorph eggs were delivered from the orbiting Katanga station. Med-lab staff had injected both, the egg and Monica Enright, its host, with the pathogen.[1]
The Xenomorph birthing process was difficult; Three pressed its face and jaws against its host skin. After forty-seven seconds, it burst out of the chest, falling to the floor where it lay stunned. Although a Drone, Three was somewhat unlike the first two specimens. It had dark, leathery skin with an odd striping, and it seemed "more malevolent".[2]
Escape

Three escaped when a mutated Fairbanks rampaged through the station killing anyone in its path. Every Xenomorph began attacking the containment glass feverously under the Drone Seven's command. Synthetic security managed to destroy subjects #1, #2 and #5 before the rest, Three included, managed to escape.[3]
Little is known about Three's whereabouts during the outbreak until nearly forty-two hours later, when the ship stored in the shuttle bay took off, evacuating the surviving personnel. Three had climbed into the shuttle and hitched a ride to the San Lorenzo, where it revealed itself to Doctors Hoenikker and Kash. The Xenomorph punched a hole in the window and chased the two scientists to the ship's bridge.[4] Three killed Dr. Kash and then pursued Hoenikker deep into the Katanga through the umbilical.
Death
- "Oh God. She's here! It's Monica. Get out of there! Oh God!"
- ―Timothy Hoenikker (from Aliens: Fireteam Elite)
Monica remained active in Katanga, hunting Hoenikker through the refinery for about two weeks, until it was encountered by a squad of Colonial Marines from the UAS Endeavor, that had arrived to rescue Hoenikker. She stalked and skirmished with the Marines several times, before eventually being put down by their heavy ballistic fire.
Trivia
- Monica appears as a boss in Mission 2 of Aliens: Fireteam Elite.
- It is implied that Monica may have inherited some of its host's cruel nature owing to its DNA reflex - Monica Enright herself was a cold-blooded serial killer prior to her demise.
- If Monica's health bar is seen before Dr. Hoenniker says her name, she will have the ranked title name as an "Elite Drone".
