Erin Kash

Dr. Erin Kash was a Weyland-Yutani Corporation researcher stationed at Pala Station in 2202.

Biography

Early life

Erin Kash was born sometime in the late 2160's or early 2170's. At some point, she acquired a medical degree and married a fellow doctor, but she divorced when he cheated on her with the hospital nurses.

In 2201, she was working as a Trauma surgeon in a mining rig hospital, tending a lot of crushing injuries and making amputations. Looking for a change, she applied for an epidemiologist position in Weyland-Yutani and sent to Pala Station in LV-895, to study the effects of an unknown pathogen over local wildlife to develop new technology which would help save lives of the Colonial Marines.[1]

Life on Pala Station

In January 2202, while on Pala Station, Kash bonded with fellow scientist Timothy Hoenikker, telling him about her past before Cruz arrived, warning them about specimen Rat-X, which was about to escape by spitting acid to the glass.[2]

After two containment failures, Dr. Kash was put in charge of the xenomorph experimentation. She is the one who explains Hoenikker the creature's life cycle and the backstory of Katanga, an orbital refinery which was infected when miners in the planet encountered xenomorphs. She also let out the fact that Pala Station was originally built to study strange artifacts covered in glyphs brought from somewhere in the planet.[3]

Xenomorph experimentation

Twelve xenomorph eggs were delivered to the lab in stasis containers. Kash explained Hoenikker about the implantation method, telling him they won't have to worry about, because they will be working with the plagiarus praepotens only. When Cruz let them know new station commander, Vincent Bellows, wants adult specimens, Kash heavily protested. Bellows warned her about her questionable past as the "Angel of Death" so she reluctantly complied.[4]

Eleven xenomorph specimens were produced with test Subject #7 or Seven being the strangest: a human-shaped albino drone. Kash hypothesized Seven is a kind of super-drone, capable of leading others after it prompted the other xenomorphs and even the Leon-895 specimen to attack their containment unit by spitting acid to the glass.[5]

Outbreak

When the Xenomorphs finally managed to escape. Kash and Hoenikker fled and hid inside the latter's room, where they were find by Cruz. He revealed them there are no hopes in contain the infestation and their only hope is save whoever they can and escape. She, Hoenikker, Etienne and Cruz crossed paths with a group of Bellow's men. Kash and Hoenikker managed to kill a xenomorph before reuniting with Rawlings, McGann and Buggy. Together, they decided to look after the hunting lodge somewhere two kilometers from the station.

Of the three ways to exit the station, two were guarded by security while the third one was past the mess hall, right into the makeshift hive Seven had been building. They decided to lock all doors. Thirty six hours later, they opened the doors. Security left the shuttle bay and reached the mess hall but they were incapable of getting in. Fourty two hours later, the power snapped off leaving the place in darkness when the lights were back, the mess hall was empty and the xenomorphs have destroyed the security cameras.

Kash, Cruz, Rawlings, Buggy, Bellows, Etienne and Hoenikker made one last fight against Seven and Eleven Xenomorphs resulting in the deaths of all except her, Hoenikker and Étienne. They boarded the ship and left Pala Station bound for the San Lorenzo in orbit. The Leon-895 suddenly decloaked and killed Étienne. Kash watched as Hoenikker apparently killed the creature with a pulse rifle.

Death

The shuttle prepared to dock with the San Lorenzo when specimen Three attacked. Kash and Hoenikker boarded the San Lorenzo and rushed to the bridge. Kash was killed by Three guarding Hoenikker's back while he sent a distress signal.[6]
