Helen Horton (November 21, 1923 – 2009)[1][2] was an American actress who provided the voice of "Mother" in the 1979 film Alien. Other notable films Horton appeared in include Phase IV (1974) and Superman III (1983).[3]
She died in 2009 in England.[2]

- Horton had the earliest start to her acting career of any cast member in the Alien, Predator and Alien vs. Predator franchises (not counting Elizabeth Inglis, who appeared in the extended Special Edition of Aliens in the form of a photograph); she first appeared in Strange Stories in 1953. Second is R. G. Armstrong, who started acting in 1954.
