Apples are currencies in Angry Birds 2 and Angry Birds Journey.
Angry Birds 2
In Angry Birds 2, they are used to feed your hatchling daily. As a reward for doing so, you are rewarded with Rainbow Feathers to apply to any of your birds to level them up. The apples are gained by completing the Daily Challenge, King Pig Panic!, opening chests and playing the tower of fortune. The maximum number of rewarded apples each day scales each time you level up your hatchling. These apples can also be bought with microtransactions.

Angry Birds Journey
