The Sheriff was a role in Among Us hinted at during Summer Game Fest.[1] It is based on the Crewmate role, and it was unknown what abilities would come with this role, but it is speculated to be something similar to what the Sheriff does in board games like Mafia, in which the Sheriff would have to eliminate or kill Impostors, but if they chose wrongly, they would be killed.
In version 2021.11.9, the Sheriff role was not implemented, while other Crewmate roles, such as Engineer and Scientist, were implemented. The role was never officially confirmed to be in the game,[2] and it is not likely to be added.[3]
When the April Fools 2023 came out with the new Horse Wrangling mode (Hide and Seek Horse version) Puffballs jokingly stated that there was the new Sheriff mode in a tweet.
