- Zeebu's name may be a reference to the zebu, also sometimes known in the plural as indicine cattle, Camel cow or humped cattle, which is a species or subspecies of domestic cattle originating in South Asia.[1]
- His name could have also been shortened from Zeeburgereiland, the name of a triangular island on the east side of Amsterdam, in the Dutch province of North Holland.[2]
- The name could also possibly come from Zeeburg, a former borough of Amsterdam which was created in 1990, that got its name from the Zeeburgerdijk (Zeeburg dike) and the Zeeburgereiland (Zeeburg island) which lie in the centre of the borough.[3]
