Background
Chapkis Dance is an international dance studio in Suisun City, California. It was founded by Ukrainian choreographer Greg Chapkis, who was a member of the Season 4 dance group Mix'd Elements.
A younger generation of the group called Chapkidz auditioned for Season 16, making it all the way to the semifinals.
Audition
Chapkis Dance Family's audition in Episode 1001 consisted of dancing as a group to Teriyaki Boyz' "Tokyo Drift." Although Howie Mandel voted "No", Howard Stern, Heidi Klum, and Mel B voted "Yes," sending the group to the Judge Cuts.
Judge Cuts
Chapkis Dance Family's Judge Cuts performance in Episode 1008 consisted of dancing as a group to hip-hop music. The group's performance was strong enough for the judges to send them to the Quarterfinals.
Quarterfinals
Chapkis Dance Family's Week 3 Quarterfinals performance in Episode 1016 consisted of dancing as a group to Woodkid's "Run Boy Run." Chapkis Dance Family did not receive enough votes to be sent to the Semifinals in Episode 1017, eliminating the group from the competition instead of Alicia Michilli.
