Houses

Houses are interactable structures and a significant part of Adopt Me!'s gameplay. They are the player's spawn point whenever they join the game. The player's houses can be customized with an assortment of wallpapers, floors, and furniture. When a player resets their character, they are automatically teleported back into their house.

Players can lock and unlock their own houses to prevent players that are not in their family or friends list from entering. Doors of unlocked houses will swing open if a player is nearby, while the doors of locked houses will stay put and send a notice that the house is locked if the player tries to enter. Most of the houses in Adopt Me! can be bought using Bucks, while some require a specific gamepass. Some house gamepasses come with other items such as vehicles or Bucks. Players can sell their houses for a set price that is less than the original price of the house. The price also includes all furniture in the house. If players only have one house, they are unable to sell it.

Trading Houses

Players can interact with the mailbox outside of their house and select the "list for trade" option. A sign indicating that the house is listed for trade will appear in front of the house.

To trade for a house in the server, players can interact with the sign to tour the house and view the furniture and expansions inside of it. Some furniture, such as display stands, do not come with a traded house and are indicated as such with a red label reading "Items Not Included". After the tour, the player can send a trade request inside the house, and if accepted, the trading window will appear. Only items or pets from the player's inventory can be traded, houses cannot be traded for other players' houses. When traded, all furniture moves with the house.

House trading menu

Selling furniture from a traded house will not reward the player any Bucks. Players must own more than one house to put their current house up for trade.

Parties

You got an invitation!
Party Invitation

A player can invite everyone in the server to their house for a "party". To start a party, players must go to the front of the house, interact with the mailbox, and select the "Invite to party" option. They must type out the name and details of the party before they can send the invitations. Players cannot invite players to a party in a Tiny Home or Family Home.

When invitations are sent, players receive a notice and can choose to either view the invitation or ignore it. If the player chooses to view the invitation, they will see the invitation showing their username, the username of the party owner, the party owner's party rating, the type of house the party owner owns, and the name and details of the party. If the player chooses to accept the invitation, the game sets the GPS to the party owner's house. When a player leaves the house, they must rate the party. The party lasts for 10 minutes or until the party owner leaves the server. The house cannot be locked during a party.

Players can choose who can send them party invites in their settings.

Out-of-bounds area

Out of Bounds Area

Players can glitch out of their houses and build out of bounds. The space in the out-of-bounds area is unlimited.

The Co-op Building update

Build With Friends

The Co-op Building update was an update in Adopt Me! that was released on February 1, 2020. It brought the Build With Friends into the game, a furniture item that allows players to add others to build in their house if they include a budget.

Trivia

  • Before the July 2018 update, all houses that were located on Adoption Island could not be customized and could only be rented, which meant that the players would have to rent them again if they were to leave the game and rejoin. The original spawn point for players was previously the Nursery.
  • All houses (except for those located in Premium Plots) can be found in the Neighborhood, an area separated from the Adoption Island. The Premium Plots gamepass allows players to set their house around Adoption Island in any glowing square that says "FOR RENT".
  • Furniture cannot be moved from house to house. Once players buy a furniture item, it will stay in the house unless sold. Even when a house is sold, they cannot move its furniture to a new house.
  • Players cannot equip a vehicle in a house, with the exception of the Sandbox Island house, Mountain House, and Racetrack House. If players attempt to drive a vehicle inside, they will not be able to enter the house.
