Hina Asahi (朝陽 ひな Asahi Hina) is a character from Act-Age manga series. She is a student affiliated with Sugikita High School's Cinema Club.
Appearance
Hina has long Purplish Black hair worn in twin cone-like buns and blue eyes.
She wears a typical schoolgirl outfit.
Personality
Hina is self-absorbed as well as uptight on those of whom she associates herself with.
Background
Plot
Talking with her group of friends about the questionnaire they have to fill out on what college they want to take in the future. Hina claims that she wants to attend a private liberal arts school, as to which one she's uncertain. Internally, she notes that there are some in her classroom that are already in the workforce. She notes that Kei is one of them and that although she's an exemplary student, Kei eats alone and is reticent. As Hina and her friends talk about Kei, she sits by them and nervously asks if she can sit there with them. This sudden encounter disconcerts Hina and she leaves with a friend to go to the bathroom.
She talks about this encounter with her fellow Cinema Club member named Ryoma and afterward, the girl in question Kei joins her club.
Etymology
- The name Hina is written in hiragana (ひな), which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji (陽菜 or 日菜), it could possibly mean [1]:
- 陽菜 - "light, sun, male" (陽) (hi) and "vegetables, greens" (菜) (na).
- 日菜 - "sun, day" (日) (hi) and "vegetables, greens" (菜) (na).
- Hina's surname Asahi means "morning sun" (朝陽).
