The Spirit Board is a mode in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.[1]
Overview
The Spirit Board is where Fighters can engage in Spirit Battles with possessed Fighters to free Spirits.[2] Spirits appearing on the Spirit Board's Target List are only present for a set amount of time that's based on their Rank; Spirits with the Rank of Legend will remain on the Target List for 15 minutes whereas all other Ranks appear for five minutes. After this period of time has elapsed, the Spirit will disappear from the Spirit Board and another Spirit will replace it. If a Spirit is engaged while it is on the Spirit Board, the Spirit will also disappear from the Board even if the Spirit Battle was lost. If a Spirit is removed from the Spirit Board before its determined time, the space occupied by that Spirit will be temporarily inaccessible following the Spirit Battle. Unlike in Adventure Mode, Spirits can reappear randomly on the Spirit Board and be challenged repeatedly after they have been obtained.
The Spirit Board is also a Challenge category.
Events
Weekly events are hosted on the Spirit Board with various topics and effects, such as certain Spirits befitting a common theme appearing in greater numbers or modifications to the rewards gained upon winning Spirit Battles. Themed Spirits appearing in these Events are set to either appear at set times or randomly throughout the duration of the Event.
