Null is the main antagonist and final boss of Echoes of Wisdom. It is a primordial cosmic entity who preexisted the Golden Goddesses' creation of the world and who endangered the nascent world even before the invasion of Demise. It's revealed that the land of Hyrule and the Light World were created by the Goddesses in order to seal away Null and stop it causing chaos. This action sealed Null underneath Hyrule and caused it to resent the Golden Goddesses. The Golden Goddesses then created the Tris to keep Null contained beneath the world by fixing rifts, strange portals created by Null to destroy the land of Hyrule and its inhabitants while reverting the world back to the void it was before.
Many years later during the downfall timeline, Null manages to seal away the Tris, leaving the land of Hyrule defenseless against the rifts. One of the Tris manages to evade Null and meets up with Princess Zelda. Zelda and Tri set off on an adventure to save Hyrule and Link from the rifts, which they believe are being created by Ganon. After defeating Ganon at Hyrule Castle, Ganon is revealed to be a puppet of Null, who proceeds to kidnap Link. The Golden Goddesses reveal to Zelda the story of Null and guide Zelda to obtaining the Prime Energy (Triforce), the only thing that can stop Null. After gathering the Goddesses sanctions, keys to obtaining the Prime Energy, Princess Zelda is attacked by Null, creating an Impostor Zelda, who attempts to take the Prime Energy. However, Null is unbalanced and only obtains the Triforce of Power, with the other two pieces going to Link and Zelda. After a fight inside Null's Body (the final dungeon of Echoes of Wisdom), Null is destroyed by Link, Zelda, and Tri.
Appearance

During the final Boss fight of Echoes of Wisdom, after absorbing the Prime Energy, Null appears as a large, dark purple shell, in the shape of a Tri, with three glowing pink, tendril-like arms with long dark purple hands. As the fight progresses, Null's shell will crack, revealing a gooey purple and pink interior which will also open up to show the Triforce of Power in the center of Null. Null will also gain more arms as it takes more damage. Null's interior under the shell is adorned with strange shards of the same material that its shell is made of. These shards look strangely like masks, similar to the faces in the sides of Null's Body.

During the Golden Goddesses' story about the sealing of Null, it is shown as a swirling black ball-like shape with two grey eyes. This form is likely Null's true form.
Null reveals itself to Zelda and Tri about halfway through the story of Echoes of Wisdom, after Echo Ganon is defeated at Hyrule Castle. At this point, it hasn't yet absorbed the Prime Energy and appears as a cloudy, dark ball of mist with two clawed hands similar to the hands it has in its boss fight.

After Link and Zelda extract the Triforce of Power from Null’s core, Null is left defeated. The duo then makes a wish on the Prime Energy, mending the rifts and assumably destroying Null, although not before Null futilely begs them for the Prime Energy.

Boss battle
Null is the final boss of Echoes of Wisdom and fought in the final room of the final dungeon. Link and Zelda fight together.
Phase 1
Null's primary attack is simply slapping the floor with his hand, causing a small damaging rift to appear that will be initially aimed at Zelda and will guide its path towards her, but is avoidable. This attack instantly destroys all Echoes.
There are several ways to destroy every hand and thus stun Null:
- The most effective method is using Bind to pull Null's hand out, stretching the tendons for Link to Spin Attack and instantly sever it.
- Damaging it normally by summoning Echoes and/or letting Link do the work will eventually destroy the hand.
After all three hands are destroyed, Null will collapse and be left stunned for a moment. If enough damage is done, Null will crack slightly and exit the arena, summoning three of its hands to send rifts at Zelda. A hand will also occasionally track Zelda's position in a bid to trap her; if successful, it will send her flying after a few moments.
When all three of those hands are destroyed, the cycle will repeat twice more, except Null will behave more aggressively during each segment. Null will also slam the ground and create an area of effect which damages Link or Zelda.
Phase 2
A cutscene will play where Null exits the arena, with Zelda and Tri following closely. Link will be barred by several of Null's hands.
The next underwater segment will involve Null capturing Tris and generating three hands that each hold a Tri, in order to summon dark Echoes to attack Zelda. During the fight, bubbles will appear to supply Zelda's oxygen. Null will summon Vocavors to generate waterspouts and attempt to damage Zelda, as well as Biri to shock her and Spiked Urchins to impede her movement. Using Chompfins along with pulling Null's hands is highly recommended.
Destroying Null's hands enough will proceed to phase 3, after Zelda falls in front of Link and Null shows itself in a more damaged form, along with three hands with Tris and two empty hands.
Phase 3
The next segment plays out similar to the first phase, but with the added danger of Null exiting the arena to use boss Echoes to try to kill Zelda and Link:
- A series of four (later six) Ganons which stab towards Zelda, sequentially
- Two (later three) Skorchills which use the freeze spin
- Two Mogryphs summon giant tornados. Later, a Gohma will spit webs to make it harder to navigate.
- A Seismic Talus spins its hands around, sometimes in the middle of the Ganon sequence
To stop Null exiting, the player must destroy the hands with Tris in them first. After this, Null's empty hands will attack like in Phase 1. Destroy them to expose Null and destroy his masks one by one.
In the second part of the phase, Null's hands pop out of the walls to summon dark Echoes. First it will be only Darknuts, later it will be Lizalfos and Boarblins. The hand will also pursue Zelda at times.
Eventually, Null will collapse with the Triforce of Power exposed. Using Bind and pulling will initiate a Real Time Interaction where Link and Zelda pull, requiring the player to mash A in order to pull it out. This concludes the fight.
