Series 12 「第１２期シリーズ」 of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Official Card Game, like Series 11, does not coincide with any currently-running Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series that observes the rules of the game at the time. Cover cards are typically retrains of monsters used by heroic or villainous characters in their final duels.
Series 12 also chronicles the lore of "Diabellstar the Black Witch" among many of its cards.
Each Series 12 set reserves the set number 000 for a card released in the Quarter Century Secret Rare rarity.
