Blaze, known in Japanese version as Honōmaru, is an assassin from The Light Brigade who escaped Sarina's lair with T-Bone. He revealed to Jaden that he and T-Bone had themselves once applied for Duel Academy but failed their first entrance exam. He was caught and sealed in a mirror by Sarina to make T-Bone duel Jaden, but he was freed alongside, T-Bone, Frost, and Thunder after Jaden Yuki and Aster Phoenix defeated her.
The "Honō" portion of his name in the Japanese version is derived from the word "honō" (炎), meaning "fire" or "blaze."
Blaze's signature card (and also the only one of his deck that was shown) is "Thestalos the Firestorm Monarch".
