Controversy

Clickbait

On February 18, 2022, FalseEyeD called out Khyo for spreading misinformation, such as using 4chan and rumours as sources, making a fake tweet where Gawr Gura claimed she was graduating and making videos with provocative text to get clicks.[3][4][5] In April of the same year FalseEyeD called out Khyo for clickbaiting several videos.[6]

As a result most of Khyo's clickbait videos have a heavy dislike ratio, including his most viewed video.[7][8][9]

Khyo himself would make jokes about this.[10]

Being called out by Enna

On October 21, 2022, Enna and Kyo held a stream where played Layers of Fear together. After the game, the two held a short stream where they chatted with each other, and Enna mocked Kyo's voice by putting on a "blaccent", and later, said "he sounded like he listened to, like, way too much Snoop Dog" and while imitating his voice, said "hey, thanks for giving me the chicken last night, brother".[11][12] Kyo was shocked and instantly pointed out her racism, and after the stream, Enna tweeted that Kyo had told her about why her actions were racist and stereotypical.[13]

Reactions were mixed amongst the fandom, with some pointing to the fact that Enna was a Canadian of Chinese descent, therefore unfamiliar with American racism. However many others who critisized her accused Enna of being deliberate with her racism as listening to rap and eating fried chicken are specifically negative stereotypes of black people.[14][15][16] Black VTubers such as VI Seconds and Riri also called Enna racist.[17][18] A week later, in a stream where she read horror Marshmallows, Enna started it by asking people not to defend her and stated that she was not the victim.[19]

Khyo made a video on the aforementioned situation and was called out by Enna for spreading misinformation. However, later Enna said that it was okay and joked about it.[20] Later Enna would even comment under Khyo's videos.[21]
