Griffin Daniel Puatu[1] is an American voice actor and singer, known for voicing Louis in Beastars, Ganke Lee in the Insomniac Spider-Man games, and Sunday in Honkai: Star Rail.[1]

Background

Griffin grew up in a mixed family. His father is Filipino, Spanish and Irish, and his mother is Swedish and German.[1]

Career

Before getting into his career as a voice actor, he did fandubs and song covers on his channel. His popularity boomed from there and got anime and video game roles. [citation needed]

Recently, he voiced the happy side of the titular character in Joel G's ENA after Gabe Velez left due to allegations of rape and abuse.[2]

Controversies

Chris Niosi

When Chris Niosi was announced as the voice of Moze in Honkai: Star Rail, fans were not happy. Niosi was in a scandal in July of 2019 with him being accused of sexual, emotional, and physical abuse and admitting to it later that year. Puatu tried to calm the controversy by making a post on Reddit defending Niosi and criticizing his victims for not forgiving Niosi.[3] Fans then accused Puatu for victim blaming and still said Niosi should still be held accountable, and then Puatu commented on the post saying that he wasn't trying to blame the victims.[4] As a result Puatu was fired from his roles as Gael in Lost in Limbo, Malec in Sigh of the Abyss and Shu in REEDS, with Niosi resigning from his role as Moze.[5][6]
