Adele

Adele Laurie Blue Adkins (born: May 5, 1988 (1988-05-05) [age 36]), is an English singer and songwriter. After graduating from the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in 2006, Adele was given a recording contract by XL Recordings after a friend posted her demo on Myspace the same year. Since her debut in 2006, she's released a total of four albums, including 19, (2008), 21, (2011), 25, (2015) and 30 (2021).

Today she's one of the most successful and most popular artists in music, who makes music in various popular genres, including pop, R&B, blue-eyed soul, and pop-soul, and has recorded many iconic pop songs, including Rolling in the Deep, Hello, and Set Fire to the Rain, among others.

Personal Life

Adele was born in Tottenham, London, England on May 5, 1988. When her father, Marc Evans, having a Welsh descent, departed, her mother, Penny Adkins, having an English descent, decided to raise her. Adele began singing at four years of age. At age nine, Adele and her mother moved down south to Brighton.

In 1999, at age eleven, Adele and her mother moved back to London, where Adele would learn to play guitar and sing in front of classmates. Adele graduated from the BRIT School for Performing Arts & Technology in Croydon in May 2006.

Music Career

Adele released her first album titled 19 on January 28, 2008. Shortly graduating school, Adele was picked up by XL Recordings and Columbia Records. Between 2006 and 2007, Adele recorded tracks in ten different studios for her album.

The standard edition included twelve tracks, including a cover of "Make You Feel My Love" originally by Bob Dylan. Adele's original productions includes two singles, "Chasing Pavements" and "Cold Shoulders". The Japanese edition included a cover of "That’s It, I Quit, I'm Moving On" originally performed by Sam Cooke.

Adele was supposed to go on tour in 2008 to promote her latest content, but called it off to be with a former boyfriend.

Adele released her second album titled 21 on January 24, 2011.^[1] The standard edition featured eleven tracks. Singles included "Rolling in the Deep", "Rumour Has It", "Turning Tables", "Set Fire to the Rain", and "Someone Like You". The album turned out to be far more successful than her previous release, and the single tracks released a great amount of radio play.

Adele went on a worldwide tour following the conclusion of recording the material in the studio. The North American portion of the tour easily sold out. By October 2011, Adele had to cancel the rest of her tour due to vocal-cord hemorrhage. To avert permanent damage to her vocal cords, Adele saw a doctor in Massachusetts, and underwent laser microsurgery on her vocal cords to remove a benign polyp.

After her microsurgery, Adele performed at the 2012 Grammys. By October 2012, Adele composed and recorded a theme song for the James Bond film, Skyfall, and the track was named after the film title itself. The single was downloaded five million times and received awards for Best Original Song by the Golden Globe Awards and Academy Awards.

By early 2014, Adele announced that she returned to the recording studio to develop new material. Her third studio album titled 25 was released on November 20, 2015. The standard edition included eleven tracks. Most notable of them all was "Hello", which became a smash-hit single. The music video for "Hello" would achieve one billion views on YouTube in just only 88 days.^[2]

On October 13, 2021, Adele announced her fourth studio album "30", originally set to release in 2020 but due to the COVID-19 pandemic production was halted. The only single released for the album was "Easy On Me". Recorded between 2018 and 2021, the album was released in November 19, 2021.
