OMGator (Japanese: オッタマゲーター, Ottamagētā) is a Rank D, Water-attribute 'Merican Yo-kai of the Slippery tribe introduced in Yo-kai Watch 3.

Biology

OMGator is a cartoonish alligator standing on his hind legs. His right eye looks normal, but his left eye has a yellow sclera with a black iris and red pupil. OMGator wears a leather vest with an open front. He wears an Australian-style hat and a necklace with a single tooth on it.

OMGator gets easily surprised over anything. Overall, he behaves calmly and kindheartedly. He does sport the unusual ability that when he was struck by Papa Bolt's thunder, he didn't show much reaction from it.

Those Inspirited by OMGator will get easily surprised over anything.

In the English dub, OMGator speaks in an Australian accent.

Etymology

"Ottamagator" is a combination of "ottamageru" (おっ魂消る, "to be flabbergasted") and "alligator."

"OMGator" is a combination of "OMG," a shortening of "Oh my God," and "alligator."

"Aymadrilo" combines the phrase "Ay Madre" (Oh Mother) and "cocodrilo" (crocodile).

Trivia

• OMGator's Soultimate is called "Surprised Jaw Attack" in Yo-kai Watch: Wibble Wobble; however, it was renamed to "Shock Jaw Attack" in Yo-kai Watch 3.
• His design is likely a reference to Crocodile Dundee, sporting a similar hat to Dundee, and Steve Irwin. OMGator has an Australian accent in English and Japanese, with his befriended quote in English being reminiscent of Steve Irwin's mannerisms.
