The Lottery (Japanese: くじ Kuji), or formally called the Triangle Lottery (Japanese: さくら三角くじ Sakura sankaku kuji) is a feature in Yo-kai Watch 2 and Yo-kai Watch 3, where the player can redeem Lottery Tickets for a chance to win a prize.
It is held at the Candy Stop in Blossom Heights, where the player must talk to the old lady at the counter so they can exchange their tickets to win prizes of varying rarity.
Overview
It becomes available to the player when Blossom Heights is unlocked either during Chapter 4 in Yo-kai Watch 2 or in Chapter 2 of Hailey's side in Yo-kai Watch 3. The player can either look at the prizes or redeem a Lottery Ticket, where the numbers are wrapped in a triangular-shaped origami paper which can be picked on the Nintendo 3DS' Touch Screen.
There are a total of fifty (Yo-kai Watch 2) or forty-five (Yo-kai Watch 3) prizes to win in each drawing. In Yo-kai Watch 3 a special prize Last One prize was added. This allows the last ticket drawn to also come with a special prize. They can range from Food and battle-enchancing items to exclusive materials like the Sand Suit or Next HarMEOWny Trading Cards.
It takes a total of 3-4 in-game days for all the prizes to be redeemed by everybody else, which are all completely selected at random. The prize drawings automatically reset once when they are all taken, which contain a slightly different selection of prizes. Unlike the auto-saving feature in Yo-kai Watch 3, the player can reset the game as many times as they like until they get the desired prize.
Lottery Tickets
- Main article: Lottery Ticket
To enter the prize drawing, the player must have Lottery Tickets on hand which equates the amount of numbers picked. They cannot be found in stores and are usually contained within Treasure Boxes, Quests or Hidden Items on the ground. It is recommended that the player has a high amount of tickets if they want to win a certain prize.
In the Ver.1.3 update of the localized versions of Yo-kai Watch 3, the process for obtaining Lottery Tickets have been made easier. If the player has unlocked the Greengramps Baffle Board, they can trade in Trash for Lottery Tickets for two pieces each.

Guide
- 1. Collect Lottery Tickets, in Yo-kai Watch 2 this can be done by going to Tranquility Apartments, collecting the Items and saving, then quitting to title screen and repeating. In Yo-kai Watch 3, this can be done by unlocking the Greengramps Baffle Board, and trading in Trash for Lottery Tickets.
- 2. Go to the shop and save before using the tickets, if you didn't win, restart, sleep then retry, saving and using tickets until you win. An explanation of how this works can be found in the Guides page.
Trivia
- The Lottery is based on the Ichiban Kuji in Japan, where people redeem money to buy lottery tickets in order to win prizes rather than money unlike in the west.
- Coincidentally, a company called the Ichiban Kuji did a Lottery for various Yo-kai Watch-related merchandise until 2017.
