It was broadcasted in Japan on January 8, 2016 and the A-Part, C-Part, and D-Part aired on December 1, 2018 in the United States.

Summary

Nate, Whisper, and Jibanyan get their New Year's gifts. Komashiro and Whisper are surrounded by a horde of humans and eventually meet their true enemy. Nate, Whisper, and Jibanyan meet Necolumbus. Hailey and Usapyon try to find a good replacement for Mochismo's mochi after it gets stolen by Carl SanFantastico.

• The title for the first segment on Amazon Instant Video is mistakenly called "A New Year's Gift".
• This is the first episode Nate actually summons Hidabat.
• This is the first season 2 episode to have 4 segments.
• This is the first episode to air in 2016 in Japan.
• The scene at the end of the Hailey Anne Detective Agency segment is a reference to the 1971 anime Arupusu no Shōjo Haiji.
• This is the second time that the NHK Kōhaku Uta Gassen is parodied.
• Kittylumbus evolves into Columbakat (offscreen) in this episode, which is not possible in the video games.
• This is the first episode in the French dub to have subtitled visuals.

Dub Differences

• The first segment is mostly rewritten to remove the reference of Otomoshida. The first time that it originally happened was in The House Cleaning War, where it was renamed to "allowance".
• The Otoshi-dama (おとし玉) pun was written out in the dub, along with the text for when the spherical ball was shown.
• For unknown reasons, the first frame of the Hapyon segment in this episode (of Hailey Anne before doing her greeting pose) is extended for several seconds in the dub.
• The country of Japan in Columbakat's medal is removed from the dub.
