Temporary Ban

Days after this episode was broadcasted in Japan, it was suspended for "undisclosed reasons". This had gotten many news outlets speculating what may have caused the ban to happen, such as the many parodies referenced throughout. One piece of speculation was the part where the cue card said in Japanese "A meaty volcanic explosion", where it was compared to the 2014 Mount Ontake eruption that happened on September 27, 2014 despite it being in production before the incident.
Digital streaming of the series was also temporarily suspended on October 10, 2014.
The episode would later be re-aired on December 24, 2014, which was also the date when digital distribution of the Yo-kai Watch anime resumed. The revised episode was completely intact with the exception of the scenes where Failian inspirits humans and makes them dance; it was re-animated by OLM to make it resemble less of the dance chorography of Pink Lady's UFO, while "USO" was added at the back, and the music had also been redone.
All foreign dubs of the episode use the edited scenes as of a result. While Asian dubs used the changed music, dubs outside of Asia would retain the original track with the new dance animation. However, most dubs would remove the "USO" graphic in these scenes, save for ones that normally use unedited Japanese footage such as Mandarin or the Southeast Asian English dub.
Trivia
- Spoilerina is the first Legendary Yo-kai to not be summoned via the Yo-kai Medallium, where it creates a bit of a consistency error regarding all Yo-kai that were originally sealed there in the first place. It would carry onto later episodes with Legendary Yo-kai.
- When Failian Inspirits Fiona of Next HarMEOWny, she says that she wants to "return to being back to normal", which is a reference to the Japanese idol group Candies, where they broke up soon after they said that. One of the other Next HarMEOWny members put the microphone down on the floor in the exact same vein as what former singer Momoe Yamaguchi did in her final concert at the end of her career.
- In the Japanese version of the scene parodying the Olympics choosing to host the games in Tokyo, Japan, the female hostess poses in a similar manner to Christel Takigawa and says "O-to-te-na-shi" before Failian inspirits him. The reference is done again, whereas it previously appeared in Are They Really Cool?.
- The scene when Failian inspirits the President of the United States resembles the then-current president Barack Obama. The lookalike previously appeared in Springdale Five-YO: Episode 5 - Shake a Tail.
- When Failian meets the alien on the spaceship, they meet by touching with their fingers in the same vein as the film E.T. The Extra Terrestrial.
- This is the third episode where a Legendary Yo-kai debuts.
- This episode was not aired in Malaysia for unknown reasons.
- The swan dress Whisper wears in Recap Time resembles that of the late Japanese comedian Ken Shimura's suggestive-looking swan dress he wore at a production of Swan Lake. It would be referenced again in EP144.
Dub differences
- The Japanese symbols on the pudding cup has been removed.
- The "USO" text behind the characters was removed after they do the dance.
- The Space Wars posters were changed to look a little less like Star Wars, such as nutcracker-like weapons replacing lightsabers. This was done likely to avoid copyright infringement, as issues like these are far more common in most western territories.
- The suggestive swan dress in Recap Time had its neck removed.
Errors
- Failian doesn't give Nate his medal, but Spoilerina's instead.
