Beware the Prankster! is the 40th chapter in the Yo-kai Watch manga series.
Plot
Nate declares to Whisper that he's going to look for a Yo-kai. All of a sudden, a Yo-kai runs up to him from behind, running into him. Angry, Whisper yells at them, asking if they're blind but the Yo-kai looks up, showing they have a blank face. Whisper tells them to apologise to Nate and they're revealed as Boyclops, gaining a single eye on his face. Nate and Whisper are excited, Whisper happy to see a Classic Yo-kai. Boyclops is mad that they aren't scared of him, muttering how modern kids aren't scared of anything.
Whisper asks what he was running from, Boyclops quickly exclaiming he was running from a long necked monster. Nate wonders if it was Lady Longnek. Boyclops uses his ability, making a giraffe appear. Nate and Whisper are shocked, Boyclops being pleased he scared them. The giraffe soon disappears and Boyclops explains he made it appear with his Soultimate move, Illusion Eye. Nate is surprised, mentioning Illoo can do the same. Boyclops makes fun of Nate for being scared but Nate decides to summon Jibanyan to deal with him. Jibanyan appears dried up, explaining the heat has gotten to him. As Nate turns back to Boyclops, he spots Eyesoar behind him. Eyesoar uses its laser eye, Whisper explaining if they're hit they're done for. Nate and Whisper run but Jibanyan is still out of action on the ground. Eyesoar aims at Jibanyan but Nate jumps in the way to protect him. However his laser does nothing as it was merely an illusion again. Nate is relieved they're okay, Jibanyan saying he'll help him in return. He uses Paws of Fury on Boyclops but his attacks are weak because of his condition. However, Boyclops is even weaker so even a weak hit knocks him down.
Boyclops is defeated but is impressed at Nate's act of heroism. He explains that humans usually don't like Yo-kai and is happy Nate is different. He gives him his Yo-kai medal and the two become friends. Nate turns back to Jibanyan who is seemingly back to normal. Jibanyan explains he lost enough weight that his body is so light now and he can even fly. However it is revealed that he can do so because he is ascending.
This chapter has a bonus comic. Nate is walking along on a rainy day with Pallysol, stating how he's such a big help on such days. Boyclops then runs into him just like before to shock him. However he quickly realises it's Nate however Pallysol is shocked at the 'one eyed monster', Nate thinking that he only has one eye too.
