The Peace Corps is an Earth Federation diplomatic delegation formed in October 2205 to carry out of a diplomatic visit from the Earth to Iscandar and Garmillas. It was composed of General Kotetsu Serizawa as plenipotentiary ambassador, Captain Osamu Yamanami and Garmillas Ambassador to the Earth Loren Burrell. The group was escorted by the 65th Escort Fleet.[2][1]
When they recieved news of the destruction of Garmillas the visit was cancelled and the fleet was to move back towards Earth, but the crew of space battleship Yamato and her two companion ships Asuka and Hyuga refused to do so, they left the Peace Corps behind and rushed to help the Desler Fleet in the Iscandar Incident.[3]
