Ryo Nozaki (野崎 亮, Nozaki Ryō) is the main antagonist of Kurohyou 2: Ryu ga Gotoku Ashura-hen. He is the osteopath and fortune teller of Asura's underground clinic.
Profile
Appearance
Nozaki is extremely muscular and has a visible scar across his eyes. His hair is shoulder-length and black.
Attire
During his time as Asura's osteopath, he wears a white doctor's coat. Under the coat, he wears a black jumper with a blue bead necklace.
Personality
— Nozaki to TatsuyaDestiny cannot be changed.
Nozaki single-mindedly believes that destiny dictates a person's life, and nothing they do can change it. He initially comes off as a quiet, but helpful doctor who is willing to assist anyone in need, even someone like Tatsuya, but in reality, he is a crazed, nihilistic man seeking retribution for the wrongs done to him.
Background
When Nozaki was young, he had been raised in Akebono Garden Orphanage, with Shizuka Ichikawa and Makoto Yashiro. As he got older, he was taken out of the orphanage by an unknown relative and moved to Osaka. Later, however, he would leave his Osaka home and return to Shizuka, who he had fallen in love with.
Much later, Shizuka was sent to hospital needing a liver transplant. Nozaki had given over his own liver for Shizuka, but Tadashi Tsurumi, a corrupt government official, would later bribe and blackmail the doctor to make him give the liver to his own son, Daisuke Tsurumi. After Shizuka died, Nozaki lost his mind and came to believe that money and power was the only way to change one's fate.
Later on, he would come across Yasuto Akita, the founder of the underground fighting gang Asura, and join the group as Akita's advisor and the group's osteopath working with acupunctures.
Involvement
Kurohyou 2: Ryu ga Gotoku Ashura-hen: 2011
Tatsuya meets Ryo Nozaki after his fight with Meteor Suzuki. Tatsuya is shocked to learn that Nozaki would treat anyone, regardless if they are an enemy or not. Their first meeting ends with Tatsuya rejecting Nozaki's message of fate being predetermined with saying to him "You can change your fate with your own strength." Ever since then, Nozaki took an increased interest in Tatsuya, meeting him at an underground casino and winning Roulette three times in a row. Nozaki also leaves cryptic prophecies for Tatsuya, all of them eventually becoming reality.
Fighting Style
Ryo is level 28 in the main story and level 50 in Premium Adventure (the highest achievable level in Kurohyou 2). His style is called Chinese Martial Arts, but is actually an altered Extreme Wild Dance (with some Chinese Martial Arts moves nonetheless, and some other moves taken from Koumei Cho and Reiji Shinjo). He uses the deathblows Diving Fist and Rising Gale (in the story).
Ryo is an extremely weak final boss: his AI is incapable of anything except spamming combos and deathblows, and infrequently using grabs (for which he has super armor). He is very easy to defeat, even on Extremely Hard difficulty.
His invincible move has him jumping and causing a shockwave, which can stun Tatsuya if you do not run away, and if Tatsuya is stunned, he can follow up with "Iron Mountain".
He is one of only 2 bosses in the Kurohyou series with a unique aura, his being 8 golden arms streaming out of his body, giving him the appearance of an asura.
Trivia
- His theme song is an edited version of the game's main theme song, Born to be WILD by Shonan no Kaze.
